Model Daul Kim was found dead in Paris this morning, her agents at Next confirm. "She was a top model and a great friend to all of us at Next. Please respect her family’s privacy at this time of sadness. We will all miss her very much," they said in a statement. The cause of death remains unknown at this time but a source tells the Cut the 20-year-old committed suicide. She will be missed.

I found this video on this awesome blog called Socialites Anonymous, and thought I would show it to you guys. It is a video featuring various artists,musicians, LADY GAGA!!!, and models for the December Art Issue of Vogue. It also features a few words from Grace Coddington and Annie Leibovitz. I honestly think that this is the only issue that should be allowed to have an actress on the cover. Every other cover should be for models and models only. I can't wait to get this issue which is shocking for me because I usually splurge and get a foreign Vogue at Barnes and Noble for $15. They are more fresh and interesting.

Low End/High End

Check out these low end/high end alternatives from the Torrid website. I found them while trying to surf their rush hour $19.99 bootie sale last week. I also had a recent convo on twitter with Garner Style about knockoffs. I sit on the fence when it comes to knockoffs. I also truly believe in the trickle down/ trickle up theory of fashion. That means that fashion either comes from the Haute Couture and moves down into the masses or moves from the street upward.I also realize that people want to look good and have the latest threads but may not be able to afford or fit in them, so they get the knockoff version.


The thing I don't like is a blatant copy. Change the buckle, make it in a different color, respect the designer's hard work, and don't make these goods in sweatshops where the money goes to drugs or terrorism. I once read a report where the boss of a factory broke the legs of the children who worked there and then tied their legs together so they couldn't move. Why would you want to support something like this? So think twice before you buy a fake bag out of Auntie Kiki's car at the gas station.


That being said, I believe that these Dollhouse shoes are apart of the trickle down theory. I hope so, because they are really cute and I want a pair.

Jane Aldridge Does It Again

Well the Texas teen/ shoe blogger has done it again. Jane Aldridge has hatched up another set of shoes for hipster brand Urban Outfitters. The shoes are smart, cute, and just what you would expect from the style savvy teen. Peep toe booties and shoes with vintage touches are the themes of this collection. I love these shoes because they only costs $49.90, and I can see myself wearing these with some great boot cut jeans. I love how the straps wrap around the shoe, and how they have this great animal skin/marbleized kind of look. This shoe can jazz up any outfit.

Yay For Contacts

I have had contacts for the past two weeks or so and they have taken quite a bit of getting used to. I have been wearing glasses since I was two, so everything feels weird. Sometimes the contact lenses fall out or I can't get them in. Whatever! The incentive to wearing contacts is the great fact that I don't have to wear wonky prescription sunglasses anymore. Now I can buy designer frames or those cute frames at Target that look great on my face. I am having so much fun shopping for shades now. You guys have no idea. I just go to the store and try on shades.

Luckily for me, I found these two girls on twitter who make some pretty hot shades. Celebrities have been seen wearing their shades on the red carpet, and I can see why. Coco and Breezy's shades are studded and spiked up. They fit my style perfectly. The prices aren't that bad either. the highest price I saw was $125.00 and the cheapest was $50.00. I am really thinking about treating myself to the Basic Black Studded Shades for Christmas.

Evans Christmas Collection 2009

I woke up this morning with a lovely email from Evans. I love Evans. They are one of the best plus size clothing retailers out there, but I haven't bought anything from them yet. I might be buying something soon, especially since the British-based clothing company isn't affected by the postal strike.Their new Chirstmas collection is hot, hot, hot! I really love it. Usually I just like a few pieces, but I like the majority of the pieces offered.

This red dress is so hot and sexy. I could see myself wearing this to a party or a night out. I love how they paired it with black tights, but I would probably wear them with my green tights for Christmas dinner and the black tights when I go out with my friends. I also love the other going out look. That whole look would go great with my black motorcycle jacket. I would wear that for more of an everyday look that I would turn into night. Those pants are cute too. It is a very rare thing to find plus size pants that have a skinny ankle. I hate buying skinny pants in plus size and the bottom looks like a bootcut jean. If I wanted bootcut, I would get bootcut.

I totally want at least two pairs of these jeans. Like I was stating above, the ankle on these jeans actually looks like how a skinny jean ankle should look. I think I would get the denim jeggings and the bootcut jeans. They are 2 for 30 pounds which is about 50 American dollars. So that is like buying two pairs of Old Navy jeans or one pair of some Gap jeans. Sorry I am trying to rationalize my spending. SMH!

WOW! WOW! WOW! Let's talk about how these outfits are totally on trend and super cute. There are no muu-muus or wrap dresses here. I love the plaid shirt. Usually I get my plaid from the Goodwill store for $1 no holla, but I think that Evans' plaid shirt is doing the most for me. Loves it. And who doesn't love the floral tunics. So gorg! What do I need to sell on ebay so I can get some extra moolah?
Just when I thought it couldn't get any better, they come out with the cutest little coats I have ever seen. It is rare that I find cute winter coats. It doesn't get too cold here in South Carolina that often, but when it does I want to wear something cute too. Usually I just wear my big coat, or some coat that wa made in plus size but doesn't really fit the plus sized body. URGH! I really shouldn't have opened my mailbox today. I want the pink coat and the plaid coat. FML!
