I am so loving this DIY tutorial on how to make a custom lip palette and custom lip color from AprilAthena7. I really want to try this. I don’t have an old palette case, but I did find some lip gloss containers at Coastal Scents. They always seem to have make up supplies. This is a great way to recycle old lipsticks that you just can’t throw away. I know I hate to lose the last little bit of my favorite lip color.
I was perusing the Mochi Things website over the weekend for personal organization products. They always have the cutest accessories, and I couldn’t help pinning some things to my personal organization board. The iPad Pouch is the best. It offers three layers of protection and a small pocket in the back to hold little necessities. At $56.95 the iPad Pouch is made from canvas, synthetic leather, and real leather. It is also small enough to carry alone or carry in your purse or tote bag.
This eyebrow tutorial from Nini Luvs Make Up is super easy to do. She only uses a few items like concealer and eyebrow pencils. I am totally going to practice this technique. I have to go to Walmart tonight, so you know I will be buying one of those eyebrow pencils.
I am really loving the Thakoon for Nars nail polishes at Nordstrom. They are $18 a pop and are so bright and right for spring and summer. I’ve got my eye on the pink, blue, and light purple. Photo from Nars.
A week or so ago I went to the final event of the week for USC Fashion Week 2012- the sponsor show. The event space, 701 Whaley, was decorated beautifully with real leaves strewn about the floor, crumpled paper balls in various neutral shades, and glittering Christmas lights covered in real moss. The program was just as great. We saw the Student Designer Competition Winner- Jessica Argoe- show her collection again. Then we saw eight looks each from each sponsor. I am sooo happy I decided to attend USC Fashion Week again this year. Each year just keeps getting better and better. It is hard to believe that students from the university actually pull this show off on their own.
Here is a list of the sponsors that showed tonight:

From poppies at Erdem, red roses at Prada, and dandelions at Christopher Kane, the runways were in full bloom for spring and summer as floral prints came out to play en masse.
Springtime means only one thing on the sartorial calendar: florals, and lots of them. The s/s 12 runways were awash with decorative and whimsical patterns on lace and organza, ushering in the new season’s buzzwords: gorgeous girlieness. The look was defiantly pretty, with beaded and applique numbers at Moschino Cheap and Chic and Prada. Gorgeous floral stickers lay under organza sheaths at Christopher Kane whilst sunflowers sat on tulle at Rodarte.
Last night I went to the USC Fashion Week 2012 Student Designer Competition held by the USC Fashion Board. Each year, USC Fashion Week gets better and better. They come up with great programs and events to showcase their students and local boutiques. This year they added something different to the line up. They had their first annual student designer competition with actual fashion industry judges. Hunter Bell from clothing line Hunter Dixon, Emma Mahon (who was also tonight’s featured designer with her Emma Graham collection), and fashion stylist Josh Ratliff were the judges. All of the designers did a great job. I loved all of their enthusiasm and their joy for fashion. Jessica Argoe won tonight’s competition. Argoe will move onto Thursday’s Sponsor Show featuring local boutiques and present the rest of her collection.

Raf Simons, formally of Jil Sander, will be replacing John Galliano at Dior. After many months of speculation, many say that the official announcement will come from the couture house on Wednesday. Many can rejoice because Raf Simons seems to be a great fit for the house of Dior. His last collection for Jil Sander for the Fall 12 season was a massive hit with critics, and looks to be a precursor to what Simons may design for Dior now that he is on board. I wonder what is going to happen to Bill Gaytten. He was Galliano’s lackluster assistant that took over after Galliano was fired from Dior. Photos from Style.com.
Keira Knightley’s cover and editorial in Interview Magazine is the best this girl has looked in a long time. I love the whole 70s Disco-era vibe here. Catch the whole story and the rest of the pictures at Interview Magazine.
A few weeks ago several of the Carolina Bloggin bloggers, and I held a pre-party for Charleston Fashion Week at O-ku in Charleston. I was so nervous because this was the first blogger event I have ever hosted. It was a really fun party and a great success! O-ku provided some great sushi and chicken skewers. They also created a signature drink for the event, which Teowonna called Carolina Sunshine.. We also had a ton of sponsors like DressBarn, Shop Epitome, Dry Soda, and We Love Colors. Robert Rison from Eclat Designs was the featured designer who showed at our event, and Mayaqoba’s had a few models on hand to show her resort wear as well. It was a ton of fun. I want to thank all of the sponsors helping us put on a wonderful event (not all of them are listed here). I also want to thank everyone for coming out. Photos by me! Click below to see some more!
*Last but not least, Khali from Shop Epitome was gracious enough to provide us with our very own coupon code, CSW25, good for 25% off until May 31! Get Shopping!
I love bright blazers. They are the best thing to go from dreary winter to bright spring. Bright blazers look great on every skin tone, and they work best with every shape. I mean have you ever seen someone in a bright blazer that looked a complete hot mess? I haven’t. Try the trend yourself with some of the options above. Photos from Forever 21+ and ASOS.
Old Navy’s Women’s Twist-Front Wedges are the perfect spring/summer shoe. It is trendy and classic all at the same time. The wedge comes in yellow or white and originally cost $29.95. Now it is on sale for $25.00. Photo from Old Navy.
So I guess you all can tell that I love All Things Fabulous 101’s beauty tutorials, and this hair tutorial for heatless beachy waves is no different. She makes it look so easy. I am going to try and buy some flexi rods for my hair. I saw some at Sally’s Beauty Supply Store. I think I need a smaller size for my bob though. It think it should be an easy warm weather look.
