I am taking a small blog hiatus for the rest of the week to prepare for the Labor Day holiday here in America and get ready for New York Fashion Week. I hope you all have a great Labor Day and a great rest of the week! Photo from Global Street Snap.

Check out these shots from behind the scenes of the Osklen SS13 “Endless Summer” collection ad campaign shoot. Creative Director Oskar Mestavaht traveled to Malibu to shoot the Southern California/ Rio de Janiero inspired campaign with photographer Vavá Ribeiro, featuring models Alicia Kuczman, Heather Sutton, and Jacob Crumbley. The pictures are so dreamy, and the sunsets are so beautiful. I can only imagine how beautiful the ads are going to turn out.
The Michael Antonio Mallory is cute and perfect for fall. The $59.00 price isn’t so bad either. You can wear this with jeans, skirts, or pair it with shorts and tights. I think the brown boot would look good with some corduroy. I can’t believe it is already time to start fall shopping. I bought my first sweater on sale last week. I can’t wait to wear it. Yesterday I finally got a chance to go to the newest shoe boutique in town – Gwen Rawls. Most of the items in the store are not sold anywhere else in this state. Gwen Rawls only sells Italian designers, whom you may or may not be familiar with. The one designer you may be most familiar with is Roberto Cavalli.
I suck at stacking bookshelves. Stacking a bookshelf is somewhat difficult when you are trying to make things pretty. I always start out with some kind of cute configuration and then I start adding stuff as I accumulate things. The bookshelf slowly goes from stylish to overstuffed. I would love a bookshelf like this one shown on La Dolce Vita, but I know that I couldn’t possibly organize it like this. I would fill it to the brim in no time.
I found this awesome hot roller tutorial from Fabulasity Is Me on Youtube last night. The thing about hot rollers is they work better with long hair. If you have medium, shoulder length hair they may work for you if you use the smaller rollers. I see the hot roller sets in Walmart every time I go in there, but I bypass them. I feel more comfortable using my curling rods, curling irons, and flat irons. I had a hot roller set way back in middle or high school. I kept burning my fingers on the rollers. I think the hot rollers are a little more user friendly nowadays, so I may consider buying a set especially since this tutorial looks so easy and the method is super fast.
I am starting to compile my dream looks for the fall and winter season. I need to go buy a sketchbook today so I can tape everything in there old school inspiration board style. I am torn between goth and preppy. The Verlaine Fall/Winter 2012 collection is giving me elegant goth looks. The Verlaine collection is for the grown up goth who has matured, but is still in love with edginess. The severe tailoring and sumptuous fabrics just do me in every time. I think my favorite pieces are the coat and long black dress with cutouts. I am really enjoying these looks from the lookbook. Enjoy!
Just a random thought, but what does…exactly make a woman sexy? I’ve been trying to figure that out since I was in high school and all the girls in school suddenly emerged from puberty with a certain air around them that the boys seemed to notice. Whatever it was back then, my little clumsy, socially awkward, goody two shoes, abstinence believing self didn’t have it.
I have been obsessed with the Lillesand wrought iron bed from Ikea ever since I visited the store last week. Okay so this bed isn’t actually a wrought iron bed, but it has that vintage look. The white bed that I saw in the store was so fresh, light, and airy looking. I can imagine it in a country home with some fresh sheets and some linen fresh scented candles burning. Maybe the window is open, and the smell of freshly cut grass is coming through the window with the breeze. Okay…okay. I am totally daydreaming right now, but you get my drift. The Lillesand bed looks amazing and totally provokes the idea of easy country living. This bed costs $199.99 at Ikea. Photo from 79 Ideas.
I have a confession to make. While I have had my hair in a bun in the past, I have never actually done a sock bun. I am sure I am not the only one out there who has not done a sock bun before, so this tutorial is for you. This sock bun tutorial from Makeup By Tiffany D is great! It looks easy and only requires a cut up sock and two hair ties.
If you are like me, you probably geeked all the way out when you saw the Spice Girls and the British Supermodels, Kate Moss, Naomi Campbell, Georgia May Jagger, Jourdan Dunn, Lily Cole, Stella Tennant, Lily Donaldson, Karen Elson, and David Gandy, hit the stage. I screamed so loud, you could probably hear me outside of the house. I sang and danced while the Spice Girls sang, and nearly fell out when the supermodels walked on the stage. I had a blast for all of the 2.5 seconds each group was on stage. Photos from Elle.
Speaking of Luxury Lust, I am completely lusting after MCM’s Ivana Patent Bowler Bag in fuchsia from the SS13 Sunshine Nomad collection. If this isn’t luxury, then I don’t know what is. The bag is gorgeous! I mean look at the straps and the gold detailing. If you read the blog, you have to know how much I love patent leather. Patent leather cleans easily and is perfect for those drab rainy days. Well you won’t be drab while carrying the Ivana Patent from MCM. Photo from MCM.
The J Brand Black Leatherwood Alberta Pea Coat from Shopbop is the perfect winter coat for those that have edge. It is wool and leather and looks pretty badass. The problem is that not only does it come in really small sizes, it cost $1320. Supreme sad face to the max. A girl can dream though… Photo from Lyst.
These Gap Suede Loafers are so cute for fall. You can wear them with dresses, jeans, and skirts. You can wear them casually or dressed up. They are basically a great day to night, work to play shoe. They only cost $39.95 and look too luxe, so that is perfect for any fall budget. Photo from the Gap.
This is definitely a trend I wouldn’t mind creating in my future home. Monochromatic molding can seem a little stale to some, but to me it is totally perfect. Adding on color to a room can balance it out with respect to the rest of the house, and it can add a little somethin’ somethin’ to a plain white room. You don’t need to change the furniture or the decorations. All you have to do is pick a color that matches everything in the room and paint the molding Photo from here.
