FTC: I received this dress courtesy of Forever 21. This is an honest review.
Hey everyone! I received a very pretty, very cool dress from Forever 21. I am saying cool because it is the kind of dress that you can beat the heat in. I don’t think this dress is still on sale on the website, but they have some other equally as cute short, belted dresses in their plus size section. I am wearing a 3x. I normally wear an 18/20 or 3x. I can say that is does fit me very well, and it has an elastic waist. I think this dress was under $30.
ASOS has plenty of wide width shoes available for wide feet girls like myself. Even though the offerings are few, the ones that they do have are very cute and very trendy. You can even find some basic black pumps there in a wide width. That is so rare.
Y’all I finally bought the $5 bottle of Lottabody Curl and Style Milk. I now see why everyone was raving about it. This product keeps my hair sooooo soft and manageable. You can use it for twist outs too. That is what I did. I used it on my twists and on my wash and gos.
Thanks Harper + Liv for the awesome Items! Harper + Liv is that new plus size line that TFAS wrote about a few weeks ago. They sent me some items to wear, and I love my pants and duster. I was going to do one of my plus size fashion films, but the heat was like sike!. I had everything planned to go to this parking garage and do something cute, but it is toooo hot. Today it was 103 but supposedly it feels like 106. I can’t. Anyway. I enjoyed my clothes. I think I might size up on the pants next time so they can be a little more baggy. They fit well, but I like baggier clothes.
Sorry I have been away for some long. Two weeks seems like an eternity, but I have been busy with school. I only have a few weeks left and two weeks ago I had midterms. Everything is going by so fast.
Anyway. For today’s Accessory Minute, I wanted to write about plus size rings because I have large fingers. I think my ring size is a 10, so I always have trouble finding cute, stylish rings to fit my finger. ASOS Curve has a ton of rings on their site.
The Kristi from boohoo is the perfect strappy high heeled sandal. It is hot and very sexy. It looks really uncomfortable, but who cares because you are going to look so cute in them. I can see people rocking these shoes in jeans, with a cute dress, or even an evening dress. For $44 at boohoo, you can’t beat that. How would you rock these?
I love leather totes. I have been using them since I can remember. They are the perfect travel bag. Have a carry-on that is not only useful, but stylish too. They are great to take on tours around the city because they can hold a lot of things. You can take them to work and use them as the female equivalent to the male briefcase. If you are an animal lover, please know that these type of totes still come in plenty of faux leather options that still have the same or similar look and feel without hurting animals.
I recently bought the NYX Cosmetics 3C Conceal Correct Contour Palette from Ulta, and I love it. I can use it for soooo many things. You can too. I have used it for my eyebrows, for contouring my face, and hiding hyperpigmentation. I recommend this product because it really does conceal, correct, and contour.
I am currently craving bell bottom jeans. I am actually craving high-waisted bell bottom jeans, but any bell bottom jean will do. This is a 70s pants trend that I really love, along with last week’s culottes. They look rather good with some platform wedges or heels or a little Birkenstock sandal. I have found some in most stores right now. The trend is that strong. If the widest bell bottom isn’t your style, start small with a bootcut jean instead. Have you started shopping for bell bottom jeans yet or are you just not into them? Photo from Simply Be. (more…)
Pointy toe flats are everywhere this spring. I first saw them gaining some traction last spring. Now they are out in stores in different colorways and textures. I love these flats because you can wear them to work, out on the town, or casually throughout the day. You know how I love items that bring longevity to my wardrobe. The sad thing about pointy toe shoes is that they don’t usually fit the wider foot. #flatfootstruggles. The struggle is real y’all. So if you can flaunt it, go right on ahead. Do you like this trend? It is easy on the eyes or a pain in the butt? Photo from Target. (more…)
Hey ladies! Have you been feeling the recent bucket bag trend? I remember bucket bags being really popular when I was little. They were everywhere, and then they kinda just went away as trends do. Now, again as trends do, they are back. I love bucket bags. I think that they are really sharp. I also like how they can come in various colors, sizes, and fabrics in whatever price point you want. Medium to large sized leather and canvas ones look really good with casual outfits during the day. Smaller sized silk and satin ones look great at night. Don’t forget the tassels. A great bucket bags has awesome tassels. Are you in to this trend? (more…)
Culottes are the hot new trend in fashion right now, but they actually aren’t that new. They were popular in the 70s. Yup! That’s right! Another 70s fashion trend is making a way back into stores and into our closets. I love culottes. They are very comfortable, and plus sized gals can wear them too!
I always talk about flatforms to anyone that will listen. This style shoe isn’t for everyone, however those that wear them look very cool. They look like they don’t care what people think. I wear them because I like the minimal look that they have. I also like them because they are comfortable.
Hobo bags are casual and cool. You can slouch them over your arm and go. If you are looking for the ultimate “I want to look stylist without really trying” bag, then try a hobo. They are great to take to the beach, the gym, to run errands around town. Some of the leather ones are great to dress up an outfit. They also may have metal hardware on them that gives them a more sophisticated look. They also have really plain ones now that are great for an everyday minimal look
Bianca Jagger had to ultimate 70s chic Studio 54 style. In this picture, she shows you how to work a wide leg pantsuit. Wide leg pants are coming back in style. Skinny pants, if worn, are being modified. I don’t know if the skinny pant will go away and wide leg pants will prevail, but the wide leg pants is a trend worth trying. What do you think of this look? Photo from here.
It is spring time and white jeans are kinda having a moment. I rarely wear white clothes. This is super TMI, but I always feel like my period is going to come on just because I wore white and spoil my fashion moment. Like for why and for what? UGH!!! Anyway. I love white jeans. I have a pair that I love, but never wear because of my own personal paranoia.
