Hey ya’ll! It’s that time again where I post pictures of clothes that I wish were made in plus sizes. Actually I was on Fashionista’s website where I saw these pictures, and thought to myself how some of these pieces could be translated to plus sizes. I always seem to do that. The last time I did this post, I talked about denim styles. This time we are focusing on NYFW Spring Summer 2017 looks from fashion week last week.My fashion designer side and my fashion stylist side are thinking of all the ways I can make these outfits happen for myself, my clients, and my readers. The first looks up are from Coach, Monse, and DvF. I love these looks. I think they are fun and flirty and very fancy. I think I could see quite a few plus size girls rocking these looks. Today is the first day of a series of blog posts that will help you clean out your closet, and organize your wardrobe, annnddd hopefully your life. As a fashion stylist, closet cleaner, and professional wardrobe consultant, one of the things that I have to do is help people maximize their wardrobe by teaching my clients how to shop their closets. I also help them minimize their wardrobe by cleaning out the excess, and helping them to build their wardrobe into a cool capsule collection.
A capsule collection is a small group of pieces that you base your wardrobe around each season. It helps to cut back on excess, it makes things easier, and it helps you save money in the end. My girl Tiffany, from Tiffany Marie Tucker is a master at building a capsule collection. She has a ton of examples of her own personal capsule collection on her blog. Annnnddd because I love you all, I created a minimal fall wardrobe checklist for you all to follow and use as your guide. Click the pictures below for your free wardrobe checklist. Also if you sign up for my newsletter, you will get my all season wardrobe checklist-which is slightly different from the fall version below.
ASOS is an amazing store. I love all of the brands that they have on the website, but my favorite is ASOS Curve. Today’s video is about ASOS Curve and some of the other features on the ASOS website that I really like. ASOS is known for their trendy and edgy clothing. Their own plus size label, ASOS Curve, is known for the same.
Watching Project Runway’s Ashley Nell Tipton working on her clothing line with JCPenney is more than inspiring….IT IS AMAZING. I can only hope to be in her shoes one day, or at least have the opportunity to work with and collaborate on a clothing line with a brand that I love or look up to. I have been working on my plus size clothing line since last year. It can get very frustrating because I am doing everything myself, and I am working on a limited budget. If I could get a team together like this….you all wouldn’t be able to tell me anything! I also took a little break from working on things because I felt like I was doing too much. I was trying to do every idea that popped into my head, and I got overwhelmed. Then my fit model moved a few hours away. 🙁 Thank God I learned the lesson on to how to walk away from something and come back to it when I am more than ready.
Hey everyone! I hope you all are ready for the weekend! I decided to do a virtual shop tour of Forever 21 Plus. Forever 21 Plus is an amazing addition to Forever 21. When Forever 21 first launched their plus size line as Faith 21, I wasn’t felling it. Now I love it. Renamed Forever 21 Plus, this fast fashion plus size line is trendy and affordable. Forever 21 generally goes up to a size 3X. They don’t have While I wish these clothes occupied a larger portion of their physical store, they have a lot of options of cute clothes to choose from online. Today’s video is going to show that. Check it and a few of my favorite items out below. Continue Reading
So you guys know I am doing these shop tour videos? Last week I took you all to Witch Worldwide, and this week I am taking you all to Ashley Stewart. Ashley Stewart is a great store for plus size women. I like them because I think you can find a great variety of clothes there for different occasions. You can see that in the video below. I like that Ashley Stewart is one of those stores that caters to the plus size woman with a variety of items as well. They have lingerie, shoes, accessories, and more. This shop tour video shows the webstore, but you can also click the store locator link on the website to find a physical store near you.
Have you been looking for some plus size wrap dresses? I have. They have been my new obsession since I wore one to a wedding last year. A lot of people love how flattering they look. I like how comfortable they are. I also like how they make me look really curvy. I usually wear more fluid and loose things, but wrap dresses are tight at the top and loose on the bottom, so I can be sexy and comfy at the same time. I also don’t wear Spanx when I wear dresses like this because… I can’t stand tight things on my body and because the bottom of the dress just flows so freely.
Are you ready to check out my first virtual shop tour featuring Witch Worldwide? I decided that I was going to do little virtual tours of stores that are either exclusively plus size or sell some plus size items. I think it is important to talk about these different stores because the plus size market has grown a lot since I first started blogging in 2009. There are a lot of different options available. While there still could be more options available, it is a start.
I am loving this shirt dress from Missguided. This plus size shirt dress is a nice nude color, and is long enough to wear to work and sexy enough to wearafter work for cocktails with the girls. I also think it looks great for date night too. One of the things that I think is great about shirt dresses is the fact that you can tie them at the bottom and wear them with jeans, or tuck them into a skirt. This plus size shirt dress looks really great with these shoes and this purse. Photo from Missguided.
Easy boho chic style is not hard to find at Avenue. They have a ton of great pieces for any occasion and style, but there boho chic pieces really caught my eye. They look so fun to wear, and they are very on trend with fashion today. I love when you can find some plus size clothes that fit today’s style instead of “new” plus size clothes that are seriously dated. Y’all know that is a pet peeve of mine. I really, really hate when certain plus size brands are behind the times. It is annoying. Anyway. These dresses that I found at Avenue are super cute and fun for the summer.
Eloquii does plus size shirt dresses like nobody else. Nobody translates current high-end designer trends quite like Eloquii. I always say this, but I am telling you the truth. If you look at Rosie Assouline, Christian Siriano, Miu Miu, Delpozo… you will see those same trends in the hottest pieces at Eloquii. I don’t know why they are able to do a better job at it than other plus size brands, but I applaude them. Seriously. As a plus size woman, one of the main things I want from clothing brand is the latest trends. You know what I’m saying?! I don’t want the trends from two years ago, today.
Remember my post about the ASOS Curve sale this week??? Well Lane Bryant is having a sale too. The Lane Bryant Semi-Annual Sale is going on right now, and loads of bras are on sale. If the bra isn’t on sale it might be one of the Buy 1, Get 1 50% deals, orrrrrr it might be one of the Buy Two, Get Two Free deals. You have to really look at the each item to see which is which. The ASOS Curve sale is going on right now and I’m here to bring you a few of my favorite items. These clothes will probably sell out fast because everyone loves a sale, especially one thrown by ASOS. Now is the best time to some of those trendy pieces you were looking at, but your funds were too low to buy. Continue Reading
With the tensions between Cuba and the US dying down, and the recent Chanel Resort fashion show in Cuba, it is no small wonder that Latin American inspiration is a big trend in fashion right now. Brands are making fabrics with tropical plants and animals on them. Bright, bold colors are showing up on many garments, and tassels and fringe are adorning the trims of many of the pieces being released into stores today.
This post for Groupon Coupons is a sponsored post. This is an honest review. All opinions are mine.
If you know me, then you know that I like to save money. One of the ways I do that is by clipping coupons and downloading store apps for the stores that I frequent. Now I have a new saving tool in my arsenal- Groupon Coupons. Groupon Coupons is an excellent tool for saving money because you can go on the website and print out printable store coupons, or get all the online codes for your favorite stores.
Easter is right around the corner, so I am currently looking for plus size Easter dresses to wear to church. My search has not been a good one. I found a dress at Old Navy today, but I am going to return it because it does not fit right. It also is a bit too sheer. I can see through the lining. I am not trying to have that kind of moment at church. Continue Reading
Rachel Roy launched her new plus size line, RACHEL Rachel Roy Curvy, at Macy’s and I lost it. While this line doesn’t feature each and every piece from her straight size collection, it does feature a good bit of them. We have been asking major fashion designers for years to make a line for us that has the same if not similar items as the main line, and she did it. Continue Reading
Where would we be without ASOS and ASOS Curve plus size work pants? I haven’t done a Currently Craving blog post in while and suddenly got inspired by a conversation in one of my favorite Facebook groups. The ladies of the groups were discussing how hard it is to find pantsuits and decent, professional looking workwear in general. If it is hard for straight size women to find decent workwear, imagine how hard it is for plus sized women. Cue ASOS.

Let the Fashion Trend Battle Begin:
NYFW Fall 2016 was a fierce battle with many trends fighting it out for the death. We have officially gone from have clear concrete trends to too many micro trends all at once. The main battle has been the same battle that has been going on for the past few seasons. The 90’s trends have been duking it out with the 70’s trend. There also seems to be battle between the minimalism of the Normcore trend that was big a few seasons ago and has its roots in the 90’s and some of the 1930’s glamour that helped influence the decadence of the 70’s. The minimalism of the previous seasons are truly a thing of the past. Spring 2016 couture was truly decadent in nature. Even the most bland of garments had a little something extra going on. Many garments had low cut necklines, pajama dressing is still in, and flouncy chiffon and lace are still a favorite with extra beading in the mix.
