Spring 2012 Couture Fashion Week is going on right now in Paris, France. The menswear shows have just finished, and in a few weeks the hoopla of fashion week will start all over again. Aren’t you excited?!?! I am!
Donatella designed a Versace collection that looked like a 60s lacy space gladiator. The colors went from a lavender grey to neon green. This collection was great considering this was the first couture collection they had done in quite a few years.
Alexis Mabille designed a multi colored rose garden. Sumptuous jewel tone fabrics with big head pieces; it reminded me of something Carmen Miranda would wear.
Bouchra Jarrar created a wonderful desert colored palette collection with long maxi skirts, cut out sweaters, beautiful dresses, and tailored jackets.
The Christian Dior show was not as bad as I thought it would be. Bill Gaytten managed to create a collection that was true to the vision of the house and more polished than ever.
Giambattista Valli brought the drama with full evening dresses and classic couture dresses with a 1940s feel to them. I can’t wait to see who might wear these dresses at the Oscars. Photos from Style.com.
