The red lip ruled the 2015 Oscars. From Margot Robbie to Emma Stone- who I was told is wearing Revlon of course- red lips were everywhere. Now a few ladies did opt for the neutral, natural lip, but their beauty looks didn’t stand out to me. It was the Oscars for crying out loud! If there ever were a time to go red, last night was it. Below you will find a bunch of red lip products to choose from with various price points. I picked out some lip glosses, lip sticks, and more because I know everyone doesn’t automatically want a lipstick. Photo from here.

Late last year I received the #frostyvoxbox from Influenster. In that box, I received a few things from two British beauty brands that have a few products that I love. The first products I saw were from Rimmel London. I love Rimmel London products, and I wish they would expand their line to include more foundations and powders for women of color. The products I got were the Rimmel Gentle Eye Makeup Remover ($7.49) and the Rimmel Scandaleyes Waterproof Kohl Kajal Eyeliner ($4.49). The eye makeup remover is great, but the eyeliner is even better. I actually have been using this eyeliner for over a year now. It is so good for my oily eyelids. It dries fast, has full on color, and doesn’t attach itself to my oily upper eyelid. I love to buy these in bulk even though they last me a long time. Also check out the Rimmel Stay Matte powder and lipsticks. They were in my box, but those products are some good.
This week I am going to be featuring a series of YouTube videos that helped my transition to natural hair. My natural hair journey wasn’t as hard as I thought it would be, and I really think that was because of the many YouTube videos that I watched every night. I have been natural for two years now, and I finally big chopped about one year and change into my journey. I know for some that may seem like an eternity when you are used to having relaxed hair. I hope this video series helps on your own natural hair journey.
FTC: I paid for this Walmart Beauty Box myself. This is an honest review.
I love the items I received in my Winter 2014 Walmart Beauty Box. This box is one of the cheapest beauty boxes around because you only get charged $5 for shipping and handling four times a year. So four boxes are $20! Most beauty boxes will cost you $20 or more for one box. I could use or enjoy most of the items. I do have a problem with some of the samples. I can’t really use them because they are for lighter skin tones. Oh well. check out my unboxing video, and let me know what you think in the comments.
Continuing with the holiday gift guide theme this week, I decided to a gift guide for the beauty gurus out there or at least the beauty lovers. Beauty gifts make great stocking stuffers, and great main holiday gifts too. This is the time to try out new products because you will ways get a sample or two of this or that in the holiday gift sets. I’m thinking about using my VIB reward card at Sephora this week to scoop up a new holiday gift set for moi. Anywho check out the beauty gift guide below, and check out the men’s and plus size guides as well.
I know a lot of us have a hard time finding our foundation shade, but I have found two easy ways to show you how to find your foundation shade. MatchmyMakeup.com and Findation.com are two great websites that let you search to find your foundation shade. *Please note that this isn’t for first time foundation users. You must have tried or know your shade in one foundation before you can continue in the search for your shade.
Have you found your vampy fall lip color yet? Mom and I just bought our new lip shades for the fall. Both of our shades are a deep, dark red. My shade is glossy and mom’s shade has some glitter in it. You don’t have to have some dark, matte shade. These colors can be glossy or glittery to suit your mood or taste. I love changing my makeup look with each season. It makes your beauty routine so much fun. Take a gander at NikkieTutorials’ vampy fall lip color tutorial to get a beautiful new fall look.

I recently heard about the Walmart Beauty Box from my awesome intern Denesha over at The Chronicles of a Fatshionista. She told me to go over and get the box as soon as possible before supplies ran out. Before I did, I did a quick search on Nouveau Cheap. That website has all of the latest beauty news not just from the write of the blog, but from her readers, who she uses as a sort of street team for incoming beauty news. She even has about 5 update posts on the beauty box right now.
The box is supposedly free, but you do pay $5 each time you receive the box for shipping and handling. That adds up to $20 since each box is seasonal. Inside you get some full size products and quite a few sample sized products. I won’t go into heavy detail about that because I go over the products in the video. Nouveau Cheap says that there are two versions of the boxes going around. The one that I received was pretty good. The one item I can’t wait to try is the new dry oil for hair from Dove.
If you like what you see or the idea of getting and trying new products, check out the Walmart Beauty Box. It is definitely cheaper than the other ones out there.
I am really trying to get a wig or make a wig like the wigs at the Marc Jacobs show during New York fashion Week. I already have a longer bob wig. I should just cut and trim the one I have now. That might be my new fall look. Photo from here.
Back to School Season is upon us. Time for us to get our back to school beauty routines together, and start transitioning our skin from summer skin to fall skin. To transition your beauty routine properly, you need to find a cute lipstick and blush in a purple or red tone. Then you need to find a cute fall nail polish. Don’t forget to find hair and skin products that will moisturize the skin and hair as the temperature begins to drop. The products below are some of the things I am looking for this back to school beauty season. Photo from here.

FTC: I paid for the Black Radiance BB Cream myself. This is an honest review.
I have been using the Black Radiance BB Cream for several months now. I get it from Target for about $5.99. Coffee Glaze is the closest match to my skin! While the Kiss BB Cream- which I still love- makes my skin glow, this BB Cream from Black Radiance makes me look as if I don’t have any makeup on. I love that it looks natural and still gives good coverage. I shot this video a few months ago, so I am almost out. I need to buy more. If you find your shade, stock up on it because people have been buying it like hot cakes at my local stores!
Have you ever wondered how to pineapple natural hair at night? Pineappling is where you put your hair up at night instead of retwisting it that night. It is an easy way to keep your hair lasting throughout the week without all of the work. Even though @blackonyx77 has long hair, you can do this on short hair too by making many mini pineapples at night. The other great thing about this hairstyle is that you can rock it out as well with a really cute scarf.
FTC: I paid for the ELF Mineral Infused Face Primer myself. This is an honest review.
I bought the ELF Mineral Infused Face Primer from Target for about $5 because I couldn’t find my other primer. I am so glad that I did because it is so good. I love how smooth it makes my skin. Here me wax poetically-not really- about this product in the video.
MissJazzy2Classy always has some really great YouTube beauty videos. Here she shows you how to lay your wig. I figured I would post this since people are always asking me. Laying your wig is the best way to make it look realistic on your head. She does it in a really fast and easy way, so you should be able to do this in no time. Subscribe to her channel and check out all of the beauty goodness.
I love temporary hair color for natural hair because you can spray it in and then wash it out. I have been using some sprays that I recently got from the BSS and my local Sally Beauty Supply. The only problem I have found is that it sometimes gets hard and crusty, so I let it dry and then kind of knock the flakes before I go. You can also use hair chalk and mousse. This is the temporary hair color I use from Sally Beauty Supply. In MissKenK’s video, she shows you how to properly spray and chalk the hair. Enjoy! Photo from Sally Beauty Supply!
Have you ever tried yoga for beauty? Yes the ancient practice of yoga is good for beauty! You heard me right. Yoga lengthens and tones the body. It makes you more flexible and helps purify the body. The best thing about yoga is that it is a stress reliever.
Murray’s Edgewax 100% Australian Beeswax is the affordable edge control solution for natural hair. I found it at Walmart for around $3. This is like the low-cost alternative to Hick’s Edges. I swear it works. I have like 4 category natural hair. I actually have two different textures, and it smooths down.
