Plus size models are in Sports Illustrated’s annual swimsuit issue. Being in the swimsuit issue is a big deal for any model’s career. People have wanted plus size representation in the issue for years. On Wednesday we learned that size 16 Ashley Graham will be heating up the issue in advertisement for swimwear brand Swimsuits For All. There is a video version of the print ad too. Both of them are pretty hot. I hope you check that out.

Candice Huffine and Laura Catterall prove that plsu size girls can wear prints too in Marina Rinaldi’s S/S 13 ad campaign. They look pretty hot if you ask me. I was finally able to visit a Marina Rinaldi store when I went to Monaco. It was divine. I think there is one in New York City. I might have to check that out the next time I am in the city. Click here for a video and the rest of the campaign.
Every Milan fashion week I look forward to the Elena Miro plus size clothing fashion show. This year she featured four 12 + UK models in her delightfully tribal, yet elegant show. I love these clothes. These are the clothes I wish other designers would make for plus size women. There was nothing frumpy about this collection and the models really pulled it off. They look gorgeous! Photos from 12 + UK Model Management.

If I am not mistaken, this shoot featuring Lily from 12+UK Models is from the British version of Cosmopolitan. Either way, these pictures are gorgeous.
Plus size models Tara Lynn, Candice Huffine and Robyn Lawley, grace this Steven Miesel Vogue Italia cover. This cover is so beautiful. I know some people will probably have a problem with plus size models being seen half naked and around food again, but the cover is so beautiful. I am so happy to see plus size models on the cover of a MAYJAH fashion magazine. As always, thought? Photo from Models.com.
12+UK Models have added LOOK curvy supermodel search winner Lyndsey and runner-up Ali to their roster of plus size models. Congrats and good luck ladies!
From 12+Models UK:
Anna Scholz has chosen two of our curvy girls for her new collections for SS 2011 – Laura for white Label & Naomi for black label. The pictures are gorgeous and the girls look stunning of course
Laura also has a fabulous fashion spread in this months Femme Actuelle Magazine. Not only is there 8 pages of beautiful fashion for curvy girls. Laura also made the cover!
Just like the fashion industry needs to show more plus size models and Black models, they need to show more Asian models too. The world is not full of one type of person. This December’s Vogue, the one with Angelina Jolie on the cover, will feature an editorial with Asian only models. Now if only we could get an equal representation of all kinds of models in each mag. I’m tired of these special cases. If this were normalized, we wouldn’t need special editorials. How do you all feel about this?
L–R: Du Juan, Tao Okamoto, Lee Hyun, Hyoni Kang, Liu Wen, Bonnie Chen, So Young Kang, and Lily Zhi.
Check out this new editorial from Look Magazine featuring Laura Catterall & Hayley Morley from 12+UK Model Managament! The name of the editorial is called Mad About The Girls, and how could you not be? They look smoking hot!
V Magazine wants you to model for their spring issue! They don’t care who you are or what size you are, so send in your info now. Who knows??? You might be your big break. I am even contemplating sending in my info. You have until November 10th so get cracking!
As much as I love paying attention to all of the different fashion weeks, it can get overwhelming. Can you imagine if I had to travel to all of them. I did New York this year that was crazy. I mean it was fun, but it was crazy ripping and running all over town, and doing homework, and doing blog work. Anyway….I think Paris Fashion Week ends on Wednesday. In the meantime, check out these collections. Photos from Style.com.
John Galliano designed some kind of sailor themed Christian Dior show that seemed more Gilligan’s Island than anything. It wasn’t bad. When I heard the reports of a sailor themed show, I said to myself uh-oh not another sailor themed fashion show, but I liked it. I think it was the colors and prints that did it for me.
Cacharel was beautiful. The colors were amazing. The prints were amazing! Very impressed with what I saw. I would buy so many of the dresses in that show. They were so bright and beautiful.
Jean Paul Gaultier gets a standing ovation from me. He used plus sized models again. AGAIN! He used Beth Ditto, Crystal Renn, and Marguita Pring. The collection was inspired by rock and roll and Joan Jett, hence the wigs.
Viktor & Rolf’s collection was inspired by the men’s shirt. I love how they took said inspiration and made pants that looked like they were made from shirt arms, and big linebacker tops that looked like shirt exploded many times over. The design duo always know how to create something creative that you might not have thought of doing before.
