Target’s Who What Wear Collection Brings The Plus Size Goodness For Fall

WHO WHAT WEAR COLLECTION

Target’s Who What Wear Collection
is chock full of amazingness and it comes in plus sizes too. Also Target’s other new lines are really great too, but this collection is so good. I went to the store with mom and I wanted to get these pants. The Who What Wear Collection Tapered Leg Patent Papaerbag Trouser is calling my name. I am so mad I didn’t get these pants. The only reason I didn’t get them is because I am still on my weight loss journey and every time I buy pants or skirts, they end up falling off of me the next week.

Fall Dress Shopping With Simply Be & Me

This is a sponsored post. Simply Be gave me these clothes to review. This is still an honest review.

Simply Be

Hey y’all. I know it has been a minute, but I have been thinking of rebranding this site. I can’t decide if I should rebrand TFAS or start anew. Anyway…Simply Be gave me these sweet plus size dresses to review. They are perfect for fall, but since we aren’t exactly experiencing fall weather right now it was super hot when I took these photos.

Thanks Simply Be for these dresses. They are super cute, and I am totally in love with them. I was sent three separate dresses, so I am going to tell you about each one so you can know how to shop the site.

CurvyCo-The World’s First Resale For Plus Sizes

CurvyCo
CurvyCo
FCC: I was not paid for this review. This is an honest review.

What is CurvyCo?

Have you heard of CurvyCo? It is the world’s first retail marketplace for sizes 10 and up. It reminds me of web resale store Poshmark, except it is even better because it is strictly for plus sizes. I like that is it for plus sizes only because I don’t have to look over a limited selection of plus size clothes mixed with other things on the other websites. They have all the plus size clothes, shoes, and acccessories.

Searching For A Plus Size Bralette…I Found Them At Torrid!

plus size bralette

plus size bralette
Searching for a plus size bralette…Well I found them at Torrid. Actually there are a ton of stores out there selling them since fashion hopped on the plus size bralette trend. Women everywhere are wearing them now. I was afraid to wear them because I, like many plus size women, are full-chested. The thought of me wearing a bralette without support was low key frightening, but I did it and now I’m back to tell you what I bought.

Where Have I Been and What I’m Wearing
Hey Everybody! It has been a long time since I wrote a blog post, but I have been traveling and I was battling a bad cold. I really didn’t feel like writing blog posts while I was hacking up my lungs. Anyway. eShakti sent me this super cute lobster applique skirt back in February. I couldn’t take pictures of it because I was sick, but I tried it on and it fit.

Plus Size Lingerie-Checking Out Olga Flirty Collection #FearlesslyFlirty

olga-flirty-collection

olga-flirty-collection
First off I want to say thank you to Olga Intimate’s for sending me this lovely box of goodies from their new Flirty Collection. Even though I was sent these lovely items, this is a true review. If you aren’t familiar with the Olga Flirty Collection yet, please read the rest of this post and check out the video. Olga Intimates has a new line of lingerie out for plus size women called the Flirty Collection. I was sent a few items from the collection and decided to do a video below to give you my first impressions on this #FearlesslyFlirty line.

I haven’t tried my pieces on yet, but I honestly can’t wait to try them out. The fabrics feel great, the straps looks sturdy, and most of the bras are smoothing. They panty seemed comfortable too. I am usually not that big into lingerie. I just want something functional that fits. Most of the time, being a full figured bra wearer, it is hard for me to even find affordable bras that don’t cost under $60. I did find one bra brand at Walmart that sells cheaper, surprisingly well made bras, but the secret is out on them. Now when I go to Walmart, they are almost always sold out, or I have to fight through a mess on the racks to find what I want. They also rarely sell those bras on their website. With these bras, panties, and babydoll slips from Olga, I don’t have to do that. The Olga Flirty collection is affordable and readily available now online and in stores. Check below for details. unisex seether oversized crop top

While both of my states in the Carolinas are recovering from Hurricane Matthew, I thought I would share some good news with you. I am so happy to finally be able to introduce one of the first items in my clothing line. It is called the Unisex Seether Oversized Crop Top. All of the pieces in my collection are named after my favorite 90s rock songs that were either made or sung by women. This item will be available soon. I can’t wait to share it with you all. You may have seen it on my Instagram where it was worn by my friend Alexis from Alexis Style. She is always down to support. Thank you so much.

Cleaning Out Your Closet-Building A Capsule Wardrobe

minimal-fall-capsule-wardrobe

minimal-fall-capsule-wardrobe

Today is the first day of a series of blog posts that will help you clean out your closet, and organize your wardrobe, annnddd hopefully your life. As a fashion stylist, closet cleaner, and professional wardrobe consultant, one of the things that I have to do is help people maximize their wardrobe by teaching my clients how to shop their closets. I also help them minimize their wardrobe by cleaning out the excess, and helping them to build their wardrobe into a cool capsule collection.

A capsule collection is a small group of pieces that you base your wardrobe around each season. It helps to cut back on excess, it makes things easier, and it helps you save money in the end. My girl Tiffany, from Tiffany Marie Tucker is a master at building a capsule collection. She has a ton of examples of her own personal capsule collection on her blog. Annnnddd because I love you all, I created a minimal fall wardrobe checklist for you all to follow and use as your guide. Click the pictures below for your free wardrobe checklist. Also if you sign up for my newsletter, you will get my all season wardrobe checklist-which is slightly different from the fall version below.

Watching Ashley Nell Tipton Work Is Inspring Me

Ashley Nell Tipton

Ashley Nell Tipton
Watching Project Runway’s Ashley Nell Tipton working on her clothing line with JCPenney is more than inspiring….IT IS AMAZING. I can only hope to be in her shoes one day, or at least have the opportunity to work with and collaborate on a clothing line with a brand that I love or look up to.  I have been working on my plus size clothing line since last year. It can get very frustrating because I am doing everything myself, and I am working on a limited budget. If I could get a team together like this….you all wouldn’t be able to tell me anything! I also took a little break from working on things because I felt like I was doing too much. I was trying to do every idea that popped into my head, and I got overwhelmed. Then my fit model moved a few hours away. 🙁 Thank God I learned the lesson on to how to walk away from something and come back to it when I am more than ready.

RACHEL Rachel Roy Curvy

Rachel Roy launched her new plus size line, RACHEL Rachel Roy Curvy, at Macy’s and I lost it. While this line doesn’t feature each and every piece from her straight size collection, it does feature a good bit of them. We have been asking major fashion designers for years to make a line for us that has the same if not similar items as the main line, and she did it.

NYFW Fall 2016 Was A Battle With Many Trends Fighting It Out

Let the Fashion Trend Battle Begin:

NYFW Fall 2016 was a fierce battle with many trends fighting it out for the death. We have officially gone from have clear concrete trends to too many micro trends all at once. The main battle has been the same battle that has been going on for the past few seasons. The 90’s trends have been duking it out with the 70’s trend. There also seems to be battle between the minimalism of the Normcore trend that was big a few seasons ago and has its roots in the 90’s and some of the 1930’s glamour that helped influence the decadence of the 70’s.

Spring 2016 Couture Was Truly Decadent

Spring 2016 CoutureFrom left to right: 1. Julien Fournie 2. Christian Dior 3. Aouadi 4. Ralph & Russo 5. Chanel 6. Zuhair Murad

The minimalism of the previous seasons are truly a thing of the past. Spring 2016 couture was truly decadent in nature. Even the most bland of garments had a little something extra going on. Many garments had low cut necklines, pajama dressing is still in, and flouncy chiffon and lace are still a favorite with extra beading in the mix.

Well I’m back with another post where I show y’all street style looks that I would love to see/make for plus sizes. The first post in the street style series is here. Sidenote: If you are someone who wants your clothes to be flattering, this isn’t the post for you. I am from the f*^k flattering school of thought. If I like it, then I will wear it. 🙂 OK. Moving on. These are the looks I really love. I can’t wait for plus size designers and plus size women to start taking more style risks.

Three Street Style Looks I Would Love To Make In Plus Sizes

05-phil-oh-spring-2016-picks
I recently graduated from fashion design school, and am starting to cultivate what I want my line to be like. In the mean time, I still see items that I would like to see made in plus sizes regardless of whether I make them or not. Creating a plus size line is hard. Trying to develop a decent size chart and patterns to match is stressful, and trying to fight people’s stereotypes and misconceptions about themselves and how they should dress and/or how plus size women should dress in general is even more stressful. I get why developing a plus size line is hard, but come on…some of us want cute styles too.

FashionMingle.net New York Fashion Week Day 7 Report

TICKET TO THE TENTS DAY 7 TREND REPORT(Featuring Betsey Johnson, Erin Fetherston, Anna Sui, Deola Sagoe/Clan, Michael Kors)

We are wrapping up our New York Fashion Week coverage, and survived 7 days of running around the city to bring you the latest and greatest in fashion week news! Here is our take on Day 7 trends!

UNIQUE RUNWAY

What’s fashion week without an over-the-top runway presentation by Betsey Johnson? Boring! And our team at FashionMingle.net doesn’t like boring, so luckily for us, we have Betsey Johnson’s runway to look forward to every season. Betsey showcased her Spring collection on Day 7, opening up the show with 2 models representing gay marriage.  When they turned around their suit coats said pre-nup! And that was the name of Betsey’s wedding-themed collection.

COLOR

Erin Fetherston’s collection was classically simple, but lovely.  Erin featured black and white, pastel yellows, and deep shades of blue.  By default, Betsey’s collection featured a lot of white, since it was wedding themed.  Michael Kors’ collection was also heavy on the blues and yellows, though there were some pastels, and black and white separates intermixed in the collection.

PRINTS

No one mixes prints like Anna Sui, and for her Spring 2015 collection she did not disappoint. Erin Fetherston also incorporated florals, but again in a simple, but sophisticated way. The florals in Erin’s collection did not overwhelm the garments.  Michael Kors featured a plethora of print looks, but the prints were either floral based or plaid based.

FABRICS

Betsey Johnson’s runway featured lots of tulle, as to be expected for her wedding themed collection.  Betsey also featured a few looks that resembled nylon or plastic that would typically be used for rain coat materials! I could definitely see Miley Cyrus in one of these  plastic-esque looks! Erin incorporated sheer fabrics into her collection for use in her striped looks.

ACCESSORIES

The Anna Sui models had everything from veils to shades. It was a really cool runway! Betsey Johnson’s wedding themed collection entitled Pre-Nup featured fun heels and fun handbags.  She created a cake shape handbag and a lipstick shaped handbag.

DEBUT RUNWAY: Deola Sagoe/Clan

The brands Deola Sagoe and Clan fashions debuted for the first time at New York Fashion Week.  Deola Sagoe is the designer behind the Deola Sagoe label, while the clan collection is designed by her daughters Tena, Tiwa, and Aba Sagoe.  They labels are based in Africa, and this was their first time showing at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week. The looks were unique, and we love to see emerging and up and coming designers featured at New York Fashion Week.
