Universal Thread is big box store Target’s answer to inclusive denim and style. The new line of denim and accessories- which debuts on February 4th, is set to make a big splash in the industry. The line is affordable, super stylish, comes in various sizes, and the ads are super inclusive.
Target’s Who What Wear Collection is chock full of amazingness and it comes in plus sizes too. Also Target’s other new lines are really great too, but this collection is so good. I went to the store with mom and I wanted to get these pants. The Who What Wear Collection Tapered Leg Patent Papaerbag Trouser is calling my name. I am so mad I didn’t get these pants. The only reason I didn’t get them is because I am still on my weight loss journey and every time I buy pants or skirts, they end up falling off of me the next week.
This is a sponsored post. Simply Be gave me these clothes to review. This is still an honest review.
Hey y’all. I know it has been a minute, but I have been thinking of rebranding this site. I can’t decide if I should rebrand TFAS or start anew. Anyway…Simply Be gave me these sweet plus size dresses to review. They are perfect for fall, but since we aren’t exactly experiencing fall weather right now it was super hot when I took these photos.
Thanks Simply Be for these dresses. They are super cute, and I am totally in love with them. I was sent three separate dresses, so I am going to tell you about each one so you can know how to shop the site.
FCC: I was not paid for this review. This is an honest review.
What is CurvyCo?
Have you heard of CurvyCo? It is the world’s first retail marketplace for sizes 10 and up. It reminds me of web resale store Poshmark, except it is even better because it is strictly for plus sizes. I like that is it for plus sizes only because I don’t have to look over a limited selection of plus size clothes mixed with other things on the other websites. They have all the plus size clothes, shoes, and acccessories.
Searching for a plus size bralette…Well I found them at Torrid. Actually there are a ton of stores out there selling them since fashion hopped on the plus size bralette trend. Women everywhere are wearing them now. I was afraid to wear them because I, like many plus size women, are full-chested. The thought of me wearing a bralette without support was low key frightening, but I did it and now I’m back to tell you what I bought.
FTC: eShakti gave me this skirt for free to review.
Where Have I Been and What I’m Wearing
Hey Everybody! It has been a long time since I wrote a blog post, but I have been traveling and I was battling a bad cold. I really didn’t feel like writing blog posts while I was hacking up my lungs. Anyway. eShakti sent me this super cute lobster applique skirt back in February. I couldn’t take pictures of it because I was sick, but I tried it on and it fit.
First off I want to say thank you to Olga Intimate’s for sending me this lovely box of goodies from their new Flirty Collection. Even though I was sent these lovely items, this is a true review. If you aren’t familiar with the Olga Flirty Collection yet, please read the rest of this post and check out the video. Olga Intimates has a new line of lingerie out for plus size women called the Flirty Collection. I was sent a few items from the collection and decided to do a video below to give you my first impressions on this #FearlesslyFlirty line.
I haven’t tried my pieces on yet, but I honestly can’t wait to try them out. The fabrics feel great, the straps looks sturdy, and most of the bras are smoothing. They panty seemed comfortable too. I am usually not that big into lingerie. I just want something functional that fits. Most of the time, being a full figured bra wearer, it is hard for me to even find affordable bras that don’t cost under $60. I did find one bra brand at Walmart that sells cheaper, surprisingly well made bras, but the secret is out on them. Now when I go to Walmart, they are almost always sold out, or I have to fight through a mess on the racks to find what I want. They also rarely sell those bras on their website. With these bras, panties, and babydoll slips from Olga, I don’t have to do that. The Olga Flirty collection is affordable and readily available now online and in stores. Check below for details. Photos from Olga.
While both of my states in the Carolinas are recovering from Hurricane Matthew, I thought I would share some good news with you. I am so happy to finally be able to introduce one of the first items in my clothing line. It is called the Unisex Seether Oversized Crop Top. All of the pieces in my collection are named after my favorite 90s rock songs that were either made or sung by women. This item will be available soon. I can’t wait to share it with you all. You may have seen it on my Instagram where it was worn by my friend Alexis from Alexis Style. She is always down to support. Thank you so much.
Watching Project Runway’s Ashley Nell Tipton working on her clothing line with JCPenney is more than inspiring….IT IS AMAZING. I can only hope to be in her shoes one day, or at least have the opportunity to work with and collaborate on a clothing line with a brand that I love or look up to. I have been working on my plus size clothing line since last year. It can get very frustrating because I am doing everything myself, and I am working on a limited budget. If I could get a team together like this….you all wouldn’t be able to tell me anything! I also took a little break from working on things because I felt like I was doing too much. I was trying to do every idea that popped into my head, and I got overwhelmed. Then my fit model moved a few hours away. 🙁 Thank God I learned the lesson on to how to walk away from something and come back to it when I am more than ready.
Rachel Roy launched her new plus size line, RACHEL Rachel Roy Curvy, at Macy’s and I lost it. While this line doesn’t feature each and every piece from her straight size collection, it does feature a good bit of them. We have been asking major fashion designers for years to make a line for us that has the same if not similar items as the main line, and she did it.
Have you ever thought about certain denim street style looks that you think should be made into plus sizes? Well I’m back with another post where I show y’all street style looks that I would love to see/make for plus sizes. The first post in the street style series is here. Sidenote: If you are someone who wants your clothes to be flattering, this isn’t the post for you. I am from the f*^k flattering school of thought. If I like it, then I will wear it. 🙂 OK. Moving on. These are the looks I really love. I can’t wait for plus size designers and plus size women to start taking more style risks.
I recently graduated from fashion design school, and am starting to cultivate what I want my line to be like. In the mean time, I still see items that I would like to see made in plus sizes regardless of whether I make them or not. Creating a plus size line is hard. Trying to develop a decent size chart and patterns to match is stressful, and trying to fight people’s stereotypes and misconceptions about themselves and how they should dress and/or how plus size women should dress in general is even more stressful. I get why developing a plus size line is hard, but come on…some of us want cute styles too.
This weekend I drove to Atlanta to attend The Curvy Fashionista Style Expo. I don’t know if you follow me on Snapchat @tfasblog, but all of my Atlanta adventures were documented on the app. I had a really good time at Marie’s Denee’s event even though my day got off to a very rocky start.
I know you have been wondering where I have been the past few weeks. I am a fashion design student, so I was really busy with school. It really took a lot out of me completing my assignments for Collections class. I had to create a tiny clothing collection for class. I spent a lot of time, money, and resources trying to make magic happen. This was the first time I would show my own designs to the world, and I didn’t want to half step anything. I created countless test muslin shells and patterns, and had way too many visits to the fabric store.
FTC: I was given this Lumia phone to try for a trial period of three weeks and a $200 gift card. This is an honest review.
Microsoft Lumia gave me one Lumia phone and $200 to spend on clothes for this style challenge. Luckily for me, a lot of the stores were having exceptional Veteran’s Day sales. SCORE!!
I know I am late to the party-preparing for finals y’all, but I had to post this. The Design Collective for Evans S/S15 fashion show was the first time a plus size retailer had shown at London Fashion Week, and that is big news. I mean they literally made history. A lot of the clothes in this collection are super cute. I love the colors, the laser cut skirts, the fabrics that went from really sheer to really solid. I can’t wait to see how they translate this to their website next season.
Here is a little more info for you:

Boohoo.com now has plus size clothes!!!! I always wondered when/if they would be getting plus sizes. I am so excited that they gifted me a few items for review. Thanks Boohoo.com! They let me pick three items of choice, and now that I have seen everything in the flesh…I am in LURVE!
The thing I like about Boohoo is that they have a lot of trendy clothes mixed in with some basics and very practical items as well for a very, very good price. Everything I received was either $36 or $40. I got the Charlotte Metallic Contrast Trim Jersey Jacket, Lillian Graphic Print Woven Top, Evie Mesh Hem Panel Midi Dress. I can’t wait to wear this stuff. 🙂
Also get 25% off at Boohoo.com with the code- GET25. Please note that I do not know how long that codes lasts.

I received Bandelettes from the company to try.
Want chub rub relief? Try Bandelettes. I recently tried Bandelettes, a product that promises chub rub relief. I am so glad the company let me try this product out because this is something that I seriously needed. I am not ashamed of my chub rub or thigh chafing, and you shouldn’t be either.
The Anna Scholz Black Label SS14 Lookbook just showed up in my inbox the other day. I am starting to get quite a few lookbooks now, and I keep looking at my almost empty wallet like o_O. Anyway. This collection looks really good. I am in love with the baseball jacket. I like how they paired it with a pencil skirt. It kind of reminds me of the Pink Ladies from Grease. I am also in love with the dresses. Anna Scholz really knows how to make the perfect plus size dresses that look amazing on our bodies. The last thing I love is the jumpsuits. Jumpsuits are really big for the spring, and I have been seeing a lot of plus size brands and designers making jumpsuits for the past season or so. I think it might be time for me to try it out. What about you? Photos from Anna Scholz. Click below to see my fave looks.
I am really loving the ASOS Curve SS 2014 Lookbook! It is super duper cute and fresh. I love the patterns and the prints. The trends are things that I have been seeing in straight sizes for a while that I wish would come to plus sizes. I want to buy the denim dress under the leather biker jacket, the grey mac coat, and one of the printed dresses. This lookbook is giving me life right now because outside my window in a crazy ass blizzard. I cannot wait for the weather to get to a point when I can wear something from this lookbook. Click on the pics below to get the full essence of the collection. Photos from ASOS.
