Canadian Diana Di Poce is only 22 years old, but she has already founded Toronto based Dare Magazine. The online magazine is geared to fashion forward plus size women and features fashion legend Jeanne Beker and Karyn Johnson of Killer Kurves in the first issue. I can’t wait to check it out and see what it is all about. There has been an influx of plus size magazines lately and it makes me feel good that someone is stepping up to the plate to bring fashion to an underserved market. Check out Dare Magazine here. Also beware the website has a video with music, so those at work beware! Photo from here.
Gabi from Gabifresh is really doing some great things with her blog. Last year she brought about the great fatkini craze of 2012. This swimsuit season she is bringing a supergalactic swimsuit line with plus size swimsuit company SwimsuitsForAll. The collection features galaxy prints and bright neon colors. I can’t wait to buy one… that is if they don’t sell out before I get my coins together! The 5 piece collection goes on sale on the SwimsuitsForAll website May 15th. Check out an interview and extra sneak peek of the line on Refinery29 and see some behind the scenes shots of the photoshoot on Gabi’s on Gabifresh. Photo from Gabifresh.
Don’t forget to enter in the giveaway I’m doing at Ladies in Navy for the $25 Target gift card!
Candice Huffine and Laura Catterall prove that plsu size girls can wear prints too in Marina Rinaldi’s S/S 13 ad campaign. They look pretty hot if you ask me. I was finally able to visit a Marina Rinaldi store when I went to Monaco. It was divine. I think there is one in New York City. I might have to check that out the next time I am in the city. Click here for a video and the rest of the campaign.
Looking for tights for the winter? Well look no more because I found them. I have been loving Nordstrom tights for two years now. They truly are the best! Nordstrom has some of the sturdiest, best fitting, stylish plus size tights around. They fit me very well. As a matter of fact, they are one of the only brands that fits me perfectly. They last forever if you treat them right, and they don’t bunch around my ankles or roll down all the way past my butt when I try to move around or get in and out of cars and whatnot. Seriously. You have to try these tights. I wear the Light Support and the Control Top.
FCC: I paid for these tights myself. This is an honest review.
1. Eileen Fisher High-Collar Down Coat-Saks Fifth Avenue $378.00 2.Plus Size Pleated Double Breasted Coat-Avenue $148.00 3.Textured Coat with Back Detail-ASOS Curve $175.90 4.Women’s Plus Long Wool-Blend Coat-Old Navy $59.00
Finding a plus size winter coat that fits is one thing. Finding a cute plus size winter coat is another. Luckily plus size brands have been stepping up their coat game something fierce. I found a few cute coats from the brands above, but they weren’t they only cute plus size winter coats that I found. The amount of plus size winter coats out there is amazing. Photos from Avenue, Old Navy, ASOS, and Saks Fifth Avenue.
I have a guest blog post going up on the Leading Lady blog this week. In honor of that guest post, they are sponsoring a blog contest for one complimentary bra plus free shipping. You can beat that! Enter below! Photo from Leading Lady.

Linen Tulip Dress (£135.00) from the White Label collection. This 60s-inspired linen shift dress is perfect for the season’s hot retro looks. But its chic minimalism is timeless as well. The linen has a touch of stretch and moves with you. Go for a polished Mad Men look with kitten-heeled mules and a matching clutch.
The wonderful people at Nation LTD. sent me two items to review. I am not going to lie. When they contacted me, I was super excited. I love hearing about straight size brands taking the plunge to actually design a decent plus size line. This line is more than decent though. The basics are really cute and comfy. They remind of trendy yoga wear that you can wear outside without looking weird.
According to H&M‘s mass email today, select stores will carry the Swedish brand’s plus size clothes in the States. Unfortunately despite clicking the link, I couldn’t figure out which ‘select stores’ are carrying the size 14-24 line. The clothes are really cute. Are they as trendy and stylish as the main line brand? Yes and no, but I think with time, unless they discontinue the line again, the clothes will get better. Photo from here.
Last week the lovely people at Leading Lady sent me some full figured bras to review. I was a little skeptical at first because I can never seem to find the right bras in my size, but something told me to give it a try anyway. Just a sidenote before I get into the review, Leading Lady makes nursing bras, but since I am not nursing I didn’t review those. Check them out here if you are interested.
Layering for the cold winter months can be hard. As a matter of fact, layering is an art. You have to know what fits and how it looks on you. The key is to keep yourself warm without looking bulky. Here are my tips to layering for the fall. This is just what works for me. Maybe you have some tips? If so, post them below. Also check out the pictures below from The Sartorialist. They show how to be cute and warm during winter.
Bright winter coats are a trend to try. Why? Well they are cute, they brighten up a drab winter wardrobe, they are fun, and they show personality. I have been rocking a bright blue swing coat from Old Navy for the past two years. It is warm, cute, fits my personality, and is a real conversation starter. I think all women should try this trend at least once, even if it is just in a store dressing room. Will you try this trend?
Penningtons Plus, a Canadian company that ships to the United States, has just released their holiday lookbook. In the lookbook, you will find cute jewelry and basics, nice separates and coats, and pretty lingerie and elegant eveningwear that is perfect for those upcoming holiday parties. My favorite item in the lookbook is the Iridescent Quilted Downfill Jacket. It looks very warm and cozy, which makes it perfect for me. Plus the shiny silver color looks great.
Photo from D. Auxilly
D. Auxilly For All Women Holiday Collection has just launched, and it is hot, hot, hot! The clothes range in size from 0-20 and in price from $98-$398. You have probably seen one of these dresses before, but had no clue who designed them. Auxilly dresses have been worn by Nicky Minaj, Trina, Brandy Norwood, Dawn Richards, Kelly Choi , Kelly Rowland, and Angela Simmons. D. Auxilly has been seen in Seventeen.com, Zink, Vogue Italia, and I can see why.
Gabi from Gabifresh was able to tape Nicolette Mason, from the blog of the same name, in her closet. There are so many goodies in there. Nicolette has a killer sense of style, and truly shows that size is just a number. This is one of the best fashion videos I have seen in a long time. I’m sure you will enjoy all the fashion goodies lined up in the video. To see more go to Gabifresh.
Plus size models Tara Lynn, Candice Huffine and Robyn Lawley, grace this Steven Miesel Vogue Italia cover. This cover is so beautiful. I know some people will probably have a problem with plus size models being seen half naked and around food again, but the cover is so beautiful. I am so happy to see plus size models on the cover of a MAYJAH fashion magazine. As always, thought? Photo from Models.com.
