Columbia Style Week 2012 Finale

Tonight was the finale of the first annual Columbia Style Week! I had a fun time meeting a ton of new people like Mike Kelton of Us Weekly, and hanging out with old friends. The event turned out great, and the finale outside at Sakitumi was really pretty. Note to the CSW crew for next year… more lights in the front and back if you are going to be outside and definitely more chairs.

OK!!! Now that that is out of the way, on to the designer reviews. M2 Boutique and MayaQobas showed an extended set of their respective boutiques’ wares! They all looked great again!. Ajnel Designs were beautiful. I loved the peplum! So on trend you guys! Every wedding, prom, evening dress was divine. The only thing that needs to be fixed is the lining under the dresses and skirts. There wasn’t a lining in sight, which means I could see what lies beneath.

Avery O’Neil’s collection was young and hip. I loved the cargo vest. It reminded me of something you would see in New York City because of the mix of feminine and masculine fabrics. Lauren Devaughn showed a good collection of dresses and eveningwear. I liked a lot of the dresses near the end. I just wish the collection was more cohesive. Luis Machicao was the featured designer for the night. His collection was so good. It was for ladies who lunch. The mostly silver colored collection was out of this world. Everything was beyond beyond if that even makes sense.

Because my camera failed to record the Luis Machicao finale, I am going to show a few pics from Kayode Photo. Thanks Mike!
