Covergirl revamps the TruBlend Makeup Collection just in time for the new year. If one of your New Year’s resolutions was to try new makeup, go to your local drugstore and see if they have these products in stock. Regular Covergirl foundations always looked weird on my skin, but their Queen collection foundations and their mainline mascaras always got my money. I am thinking about trying these foundations just to see how they are.
I found out about them by seeing an ad in January’s Vogue-Cate Blanchett is on the cover. The ad featured P!nk, Sofia Vergara, and Janelle Monae. The three varying skin tones represent the three ways the foundation shades are broken down. Now there are other new products in the line, but this post is just going to cover the foundation.
The 21 shades are divided into seven shades for light, medium, and dark. They added some shades to the old range and claim that they now match up to 99% of skin tones. We shall see. I am told that the foundation is water based, which makes for a lighter, smoother, creamier application. They are calling it nude.
I really want to try the new Covergirl TruBlend foundation because it has a pump which is very sanitary and easy to use, and people have said that it is either light to medium coverage, buildable coverage, or coverage that needs the use of the new TruBlend concealers. Either way a drugstore founation that costs $10 and supposedly matches many shades of people is a big deal. Have you seen this new foundation in stores? Will you try it? Photo from Covergirl.
