Lady Gaga gets her first major fashion magazine cover with Elle’s December issue (a bit surprising that Vogue didn’t beat Elle to the punch considering Gaga was in Conde Nast’s offices earlier this fall — although she did make it into the former’s November edition). Relatively tame in a black corset and thick black eyeliner, the pop star looks decidedly Madonna-esque on the cover. Inside the issue, Gaga even fesses up her ten-year plan that seems even more unexpectedly tame than the cover photo: “In eight to 10 years, I want to have babies for my Dad to hold, grandkids. And I want to have a husband who loves and supports me, just the way anyone else does.” That said, she assures independent women: “I would never leave my career for a man right now, and I would never follow a man around.”
