Summer will always be about being fresh, clean, light and breezy. A fresh face is a summer trend that can never go wrong. Here are some steps to keep a fresh face that will last the whole summer!
Step 1: Cleanse
A light cleanser is the best way to go. If you have oily skin, try a stronger cleanser to get rid of the excess oil. Cleansers for minimizing pores usually have cool ingredients to help tighten them. These cleansers will be your best friend during the summer.
Step 2: Tone
If you have dry skin, it’s better to skip this step. Drying out your skin will make your face produce more oil. Here’s a tip. Keep your toners in the fridge to keep them extra cool.
Step 3: Tinted Moisturizer
Let your face rest during the summer and forget about foundation. Tinted moisturizers are perfect for the “I don’t have make-up” make-up look. They even out your skin tone and hydrate your skin. Plus other tinted moisturizers have at least SPF 20 which means you can skip the sunblock.
Step 4: Conceal
For those who really can’t go out of the house without concealing under eye circles and blemishes use a light liquid formula and blend it in right after applying your tinted moisturizer.
Step 5: Powder /Oil Control Film or Mist
For those with oily skin, you will need compact powder or oil control film to keep you looking fresh the whole day. For those with dry skin, keep a facial mist handy in your bag. I make mine with distilled water and a hint of toner. Plus I also keep it in the fridge to keep it cool and last the whole day. This is extremely helpful especially during those extra hot days.
If you feel that you are too bare-faced, choose your best asset and play them up. If you have the best lips, use a light gloss or tint. If you have nice eyes, coat your eyelashes with mascara or use an eyeliner that would complement the color of your eyes.
During the summer, less is always better!
