Before the show could begin, Lela Rose turned off the lights and played “Imagine” by John Lennnon as a tribute to the victims of 9-11. It was a very moving and touching way to start the day. It also had everyone singing along. After the song ended, the lights turned on and the show started.
I have noticed that the trends for spring will be light, airy dresses made of sheer fabrics, with peplums, and the colors yellow, brown, salmon, and grey. All of that was here mixed with Rose’s floral and graphic prints and patterns. The patterns and floral prints were very beautiful and modern. They weren’t matronly at all. I loved how she mixed heavily patterned shirts with skirts of a different pattern.
The shoes have me dying for spring because I know they will be a part of Rose’s Payless line. The wedges came in an assortment of colors. They were also light colored stilettos which complemented the uber feminine dresses. This collection deserved the enthusiastic round of applause it received.
