New York Spring Fashion Week Post 4

It’s all about the DETAILS!!!
This is why I would love to go to fashion week. SEND ME INVITES! SEND ME INVITES! SEND ME INVITES! I need to see the details of the garments in the flesh. Both the Christian Siriano and Alexander Wang shows were full of little details that really brought the whole masterpiece together.

Alexander Wang delivered yet another knock them out the park collection. It featured his signature separates that look great dressed up or way down for the edgy girl who doesn’t care, but this time they were football themed. Maybe the fall football season was calling him. I don’t know or care because the collection was amazing. The purses looked like footballs, and the shorts looked like vintage football uniform pants. The leather used throughout the whole collection reminded me of football pigskin. I also liked how he had the models wear exposed underwear that were basically sport bras and panties. The capes, leather jackets, and sweaters are great to wear on a cool spring night. Wang’s shoes caught me off guard because they are not what you would expect from a football themed show, but I loved them too. They were leopard print shoes. OMG! I can hear Rachel Zoe screaming “I DIE!” right now.

Christian Siriano’s collection was just as amazing! His collection was totes for that girly girl who loves their outfits to have hats and heels with the purse to match. The color story was amazing as well. The colors ranged from warm oranges, to neutral creams, and then to cool blues. This was another Spring 2010 collection that featured the graphic print. Obviously everyone got the same memo that said “Graphic prints are going to be huge. You snooze, you lose!” I missed that memo, just like the US Postal Service missed my New York Fashion week invites. Siriano’s draping was fantastic, as usual. I also like the rough details on the hats because they were a nice contrast to the soft draping shown in his clothes. Oh and did I tell you that the uber hot shoes with the curved heels are totally supposed to come out in January for Payless, but will probs be toned way down. I am giving Payless the sad and happy face.
