Nina Skarra SS 13

Today I went to the Avery Fisher Hall at Lincoln Center to see the Nina Skarra show. I was not very familiar with the Scandinavian designer before, but I really loved what I saw today. I love shows where the audience voices their opinion in a pleasant way.

I really enjoyed the long flows maxi skirts that were paired with gauzy blouses and some barely there see thru blouses. The 1920s style flapper dresses were light and right for spring. The knit pieces were a personal fave of mine. While some might think they were too heavy for spring, I can assure you they are just light enough to layer and transition you over from the winter. Knitted in an Art Deco style design, the knitter in me seriously wanted the pattern for myself. The color palette, which ranged from navy blue, to beige, to pastel pink and blue were right on trend with what I had seen in other collections this week.

With all the oohs and ahhs coming from the crowd and the celebrities in attendance, like Lil Kim, Angela Simmons, and stylist June Ambrose with cute daughter in tow, you should be seeing these clothes on a red carpet shortly.
