NYFW Spring Summer 2017 Looks I Wish Were Made In Plus Sizes

NYFW Spring Summer 2017

NYFW Spring Summer 2017Hey ya’ll! It’s that time again where I post pictures of clothes that I wish were made in plus sizes. Actually I was on Fashionista’s website where I saw these pictures, and thought to myself how some of these pieces could be translated to plus sizes. I always seem to do that.  The last time I did this post, I talked about denim styles. This time we are focusing on NYFW Spring Summer 2017 looks from fashion week last week.My fashion designer side and my fashion stylist side are thinking of all the ways I can make these outfits happen for myself, my clients, and my readers. The first looks up are from Coach, Monse, and DvF. I love these looks. I think they are fun and flirty and very fancy. I think I could see quite a few plus size girls rocking these looks.

STYLING TIPS FROM STYLIST JAI:

The sheer nature of the Coach look might scare some but it is great for layering. Case in point, those 90s camisole dresses everyone is wearing now…just pop one of those cami dresses under the sheer dress and voila! You’ve just taken a sexy dress and actually made it sexier all while covering up even more. If you want to jazz it up a little bit more, add some fishnet or polka dot tights and strappy black heels.

NYFW Spring Summer 17 The next set of NYFW Spring Summer 2017 looks I would love to see made in plus sizes are from Rachel Comey, Tome, and my current fave fashion designer Rosie Assouline.  I love the Rosie Assouline look because I think it is really chic, and eccentric. I think it is something that plus size women might shy away from but could totally pull off. The Tome look is special to me because they were one of the few mainstream designers that used plus models this season. Tracy Reese and Christian Siriano also used plus size models on the runway this season. This particular look wasn’t modeled by a plus size model, but I could definitely see plus size retailer Eloquii selling a similar version. The reason I love the Rachel Comey look is because it is something that you can actually find in plus size stores and at plus size retailers now! I am going to show you how to shop the look below.

STYLING TIPS FROM STYLIST JAI:

All this look features is a crop top, structural culottes, and a bomber jacket. All of these things are on trend for the fall so you can wear this look before it hits Rachel Comey stores in the spring. Some of you may already have these items in your closet right now. Shop those closets girls!

I hope you enjoyed some of my favorite NYFW Spring Summer 2017 looks that I would love to see made in plus sizes. Hopefully with the way that some designers are adding plus sizes to their current lines, things are headed in the right direction and will change for the better in the fashion world.
