Payless has some really great wide calf boots this year. I saw a few options that were either flat, heeled, or wedged. I think that is great because it adds variety to a woman’s wardrobe. My favorite boot is the Tasha Tall Boot. It comes in cognac and black. It is a simple flat boot with a wide calf. It comes in regular sizes too, but I need the boot to be wide calf for it to fit. With the extended calf sizes that Payless has, these boots just might be the ones that I buy. Boot shoe sizes go up to a size 13 for women at Payless, and the calf sizes range from 16.4 inches to 19 inches. Measure the full circumference of your foot to see what you need. I am glad that Payless has a few options because this is something that the industry needs to work on. It used to be so hard to find wide calf boots. Then the few options that were available were too expensive. I’m glad Payless is here with variety and affordability.
It is that time of the year again where I start to look for some wigs to use as protective styles for my natural hair. Half wigs are great because they are easy, usually cheap, low maintenance styles that can protect my natural hair from the cold, dry air. I always start the wig search process by going on YouTube and checking out the latest tutorials and wig hauls. I’ve seen quite a few wig hauls on these new Outre half wigs, and I think these might be the best half wigs for natural hair.
While both of my states in the Carolinas are recovering from Hurricane Matthew, I thought I would share some good news with you. I am so happy to finally be able to introduce one of the first items in my clothing line. It is called the Unisex Seether Oversized Crop Top. All of the pieces in my collection are named after my favorite 90s rock songs that were either made or sung by women. This item will be available soon. I can’t wait to share it with you all. You may have seen it on my Instagram where it was worn by my friend Alexis from Alexis Style. She is always down to support. Thank you so much.
Thanks to BrandBacker and Valentia, I was recently given the chance to try the Valentia Night Revive Retinol Serum. I have used and reviewed another Valentia product before and loved it. When I was asked to try this product, I was very excited because I know they have some really good products. The Valentia Night Revive Retinol Serum is another keeper.
If you have been following my blog, then you know that I have been writing a three part Cleaning Out Your Closet series this month. The first post featured Tiffany Marie Tucker and taught you how to build a capsule wardrobe. The second post showed you how to organize your closet. The third post will teach you how to organize your jewelry. Organizing your jewelry can get messy, but it doesn’t have to be that way. Sometimes people have necklaces all tangled up and earrings and rings all over the place. Bracelets….yeah. Who knows where they are? You don’t have to lose your jewelry or get it tangled up. Look below to see a few things that will help you stay organized.
I decided to collaborate with fellow beauty blogger/vlogger Luv Mika to share four affordable conditioners for detangling natural hair. I love Luv Mika’s videos and Instagram. She has a wealth of knowledge that I couldn’t wait to let my readers know about. I hope you all will subscribe to her channel and blog. Also please follow her on her Instagram page because she has awesome beauty and product reviews and fashion posts on there. I love her outfit posts. because she is really good at thrifting. I don’t know how she does it, but she needs to teach me her ways.
Hey everyone! I’ve got another post for my Closet Cleaning series. Last week Tiffany Marie Tucker taught you all how to make a capsule wardrobe, and I gave you a list to help you plan your capsule wardrobe this fall. This week I want to help you learn how to organize your clothes. Organizing your clothes is not that hard, and you can do it whether you clean out your closet or not. Although it does help if you start fresh, or at least give some things away to make space for others. Use the list from last week to help get you started.
Hey ya’ll! It’s that time again where I post pictures of clothes that I wish were made in plus sizes. Actually I was on Fashionista’s website where I saw these pictures, and thought to myself how some of these pieces could be translated to plus sizes. I always seem to do that. The last time I did this post, I talked about denim styles. This time we are focusing on NYFW Spring Summer 2017 looks from fashion week last week.My fashion designer side and my fashion stylist side are thinking of all the ways I can make these outfits happen for myself, my clients, and my readers. The first looks up are from Coach, Monse, and DvF. I love these looks. I think they are fun and flirty and very fancy. I think I could see quite a few plus size girls rocking these looks.
Today is the first day of a series of blog posts that will help you clean out your closet, and organize your wardrobe, annnddd hopefully your life. As a fashion stylist, closet cleaner, and professional wardrobe consultant, one of the things that I have to do is help people maximize their wardrobe by teaching my clients how to shop their closets. I also help them minimize their wardrobe by cleaning out the excess, and helping them to build their wardrobe into a cool capsule collection.
A capsule collection is a small group of pieces that you base your wardrobe around each season. It helps to cut back on excess, it makes things easier, and it helps you save money in the end. My girl Tiffany, from Tiffany Marie Tucker is a master at building a capsule collection. She has a ton of examples of her own personal capsule collection on her blog. Annnnddd because I love you all, I created a minimal fall wardrobe checklist for you all to follow and use as your guide. Click the pictures below for your free wardrobe checklist. Also if you sign up for my newsletter, you will get my all season wardrobe checklist-which is slightly different from the fall version below.
ASOS is an amazing store. I love all of the brands that they have on the website, but my favorite is ASOS Curve. Today’s video is about ASOS Curve and some of the other features on the ASOS website that I really like. ASOS is known for their trendy and edgy clothing. Their own plus size label, ASOS Curve, is known for the same.
Watching Project Runway’s Ashley Nell Tipton working on her clothing line with JCPenney is more than inspiring….IT IS AMAZING. I can only hope to be in her shoes one day, or at least have the opportunity to work with and collaborate on a clothing line with a brand that I love or look up to. I have been working on my plus size clothing line since last year. It can get very frustrating because I am doing everything myself, and I am working on a limited budget. If I could get a team together like this….you all wouldn’t be able to tell me anything! I also took a little break from working on things because I felt like I was doing too much. I was trying to do every idea that popped into my head, and I got overwhelmed. Then my fit model moved a few hours away. 🙁 Thank God I learned the lesson on to how to walk away from something and come back to it when I am more than ready.
Last night during the MTV VMAs, I kept seeing tweets about Alicia Keys’ bare face. People were really upset that she has still chosen to not wear makeup. People kept saying things like she looks like a corpse or she looks tired. Others kept wondering why she wouldn’t even at least attempt to wear chap stick or lip gloss. Then there were those who swore she had airbrushed her face. The whole thing was a little weird to me. People, mostly women, were acting like she looked distorted like the picture above. When she first went makeup free, I didn’t see it as a big deal because I knew she had used Proactive for years and had the money to get the best skin doctors and derms in the world. My mind quickly changed when I realized women were generally freaked out by the fact that a celebrity can go makeup free for more than five minutes.
Hey everyone! I hope you all are ready for the weekend! I decided to do a virtual shop tour of Forever 21 . Forever 21 is an amazing addition to Forever 21. When Forever 21 first launched their plus size line as Faith 21, I wasn’t felling it. Now I love it. Renamed Forever 21 Plus, this fast fashion plus size line is trendy and affordable. Forever 21 generally goes up to a size 3X. They don’t have While I wish these clothes occupied a larger portion of their physical store, they have a lot of options of cute clothes to choose from online. Today’s video is going to show that. Check it and a few of my favorite items out below.
I just recently received my Fall 2016 Sephora inside JCPenney catalog, and now I can’t wait to show you my fave pre-fall beauty picks from Sephora and some of my fave beauty stores. Fall is one of my favorite seasons, and fall beauty is my favorite type of beauty. I love the dark lips and smoky eyes. I love all those things that make fall beauty great. Check out my pre-fall beauty
So you guys know I am doing these shop tour videos? Last week I took you all to Witch Worldwide, and this week I am taking you all to Ashley Stewart. Ashley Stewart is a great store for plus size women. I like them because I think you can find a great variety of clothes there for different occasions. You can see that in the video below. I like that Ashley Stewart is one of those stores that caters to the plus size woman with a variety of items as well. They have lingerie, shoes, accessories, and more. This shop tour video shows the webstore, but you can also click the store locator link on the website to find a physical store near you.
Have you been looking for some plus size wrap dresses? I have. They have been my new obsession since I wore one to a wedding last year. A lot of people love how flattering they look. I like how comfortable they are. I also like how they make me look really curvy. I usually wear more fluid and loose things, but wrap dresses are tight at the top and loose on the bottom, so I can be sexy and comfy at the same time. I also don’t wear Spanx when I wear dresses like this because… I can’t stand tight things on my body and because the bottom of the dress just flows so freely.
Are you ready to check out my first virtual shop tour featuring Witch Worldwide? I decided that I was going to do little virtual tours of stores that are either exclusively plus size or sell some plus size items. I think it is important to talk about these different stores because the plus size market has grown a lot since I first started blogging in 2009. There are a lot of different options available. While there still could be more options available, it is a start.
This is a sponsored post. All opinions are mine.
Would you like to know how I save with health, beauty, and wellness Groupons? Yes. You. Do. A few months ago I taught you all how to save with Groupon Coupon, now I want you to know about Groupon’s main website. I know a lot of people have heard about and used Groupon, but I was surprised to see how many hadn’t down either of those things. A few days ago, a few of my sorority sisters and I planned a girl’s night out. Some of them used Groupon for the very first time when we bought our wine and paint class. I was shocked.
I am loving this shirt dress from Missguided. This plus size shirt dress is a nice nude color, and is long enough to wear to work and sexy enough to wearafter work for cocktails with the girls. I also think it looks great for date night too. One of the things that I think is great about shirt dresses is the fact that you can tie them at the bottom and wear them with jeans, or tuck them into a skirt. This plus size shirt dress looks really great with these shoes and this purse. Photo from Missguided.
Easy boho chic style is not hard to find at Avenue. They have a ton of great pieces for any occasion and style, but there boho chic pieces really caught my eye. They look so fun to wear, and they are very on trend with fashion today. I love when you can find some plus size clothes that fit today’s style instead of “new” plus size clothes that are seriously dated. Y’all know that is a pet peeve of mine. I really, really hate when certain plus size brands are behind the times. It is annoying. Anyway. These dresses that I found at Avenue are super cute and fun for the summer.
