This is an honest review. I was gifted these boots from River Island.
I was recently contacted by someone fromRiver Island to check out their products. I had never shopped there before because they used to only carry straight sizes and I am plus sized. A while ago the British retailer introduced plus sizes to their product line. They come in sizes 14-24, and are actually really cute. That isn’t much of a surprise considering how fashionable the straight size line is. Continue Reading
Today in Accessory Minute, I wanted to write about one of my favorite accessory trends of the past few years-the mini bag. I love mini bags. I am one of those people that try to carry their entire home in a bag, purse, backpack, whatever. Mini bags force you to cut things down to the bare necessities. You can’t carry 20 lip glosses in a mini bag, and that is the beauty of the mini bag. Continue Reading
One of the places I always visit while in New York City is the Atelier Minyon jewelry store on Spring Street. I miss walking in there and watching the designer, Alp Sagnak, work on pieces right in front of you on the showroom floor. It is very exciting to see.
Super cute and super cool eyeglasses and sunglasses brand Warby Parker just released their new Spring 2014 collection with eight new shapes and six new colors. I am loving all of them. The very round and owly Quimby frame is mah fave! I love all of the colors and shapes. The old school nerdy feel is more of my thing when it comes to picking out glasses, so I have always been a fan of Warby Parker. Check out the new collection here! Which pair do you like?

It seems like everybody in the world has a Michael Kors watch except me. Waahhh!! I’ve wanted one forever! I go into the Michael Kors store, look in my local department stores, and even look online. I still don’t have one. I can’t make up my mind about which one I want. I am completely in love with these watches because they are timeless, #mktimeless.

Speaking of Luxury Lust, I am completely lusting after MCM’s Ivana Patent Bowler Bag in fuchsia from the SS13 Sunshine Nomad collection. If this isn’t luxury, then I don’t know what is. The bag is gorgeous! I mean look at the straps and the gold detailing. If you read the blog, you have to know how much I love patent leather. Patent leather cleans easily and is perfect for those drab rainy days. Well you won’t be drab while carrying the Ivana Patent from MCM. Photo from MCM.
I was perusing the Mochi Things website over the weekend for personal organization products. They always have the cutest accessories, and I couldn’t help pinning some things to my personal organization board. The iPad Pouch is the best. It offers three layers of protection and a small pocket in the back to hold little necessities. At $56.95 the iPad Pouch is made from canvas, synthetic leather, and real leather. It is also small enough to carry alone or carry in your purse or tote bag.
I love Fafi. I have been collecting her products and following her since high school. She is one of my favorite female artists. Now she has designed the Fafi O’Clock watch for Swatch. I am super excited. Here is what Swatch has to say.
Internationally-acclaimed artist Fafi- known for mixing strong graphic sensibility with vibrant and streetwise energy- has collaborated with Swatch creating a one-off design called Fafi O’Clock! A complete embodiment of Fafi’s bold personality and undeniable confidence, the piece merges a cheeky yet stylish character with the modern finish of the black plastic she rests on. Recalling how highly fashionable she felt when she wore her first Swatch as a kid, Fafi has long since become a renowned artist known for her enthusiasm for art and creative output. The limited-edition piece will be available in stores and online at Swatch.com now. Photo from Swatch.
As usual, when I was in New York for fashion week, I stopped by Atelier Minyon to check out the new jewelry collection. Every single time I visit them, I am wowed and astounded by the beauty of the pieces. Bright jeweled rings, gorgeous diamond necklaces and fanciful animal inspired pieces continue to amaze. The Turkish inspired jewelry would really give your jewelry collection a Byzantine edge. Check out Atelier Minyon if you happen to be in New York.
Have you heard of or seen MCM bags and their other fine leather goods? I will admit. When I first started seeing the brand on the arms of fashion industry insiders and celebrities last year, I wondered who, what, when, where, and why? I wasn’t very familiar with the brand at all so I did a little snooping around. Soon I saw the brand in magazines, the internet, and vintage photos of rappers from the 80s. Then I vaguely remembered seeing the brand as a child.
Yesterday I went to the grand opening of the brand new Versona Accessories store at the Village of Sandhill shopping center in Columbia, South Carolina. I wasn’t too familiar with this store. All I knew about it was that a friend had visited one in Charlotte, NC and loved it. She practically raved about it, so when a PR rep for the company invited me to the store I had to sneak a peek.
On Fashions Night Out, before the cops shut down Spring Street, I headed to Atelier Minyon with my good pal Najee Wilson. I introduced him to my friends at the jewelry store. If you follow this blog, you know that I try to visit Atelier Minyon every time I go to New York. The jewelry Alp Sagnak designs is so fantastical, because of the fantasy, Turkish, and rock and roll influences that grace the jewelry. These are a few of the new pieces I saw that night. Some of these pieces are one of a kind. The snake ring in the middle is my favorite because it is so unexpected and you can wear it on two fingers. If you are interested in jewelry from Atelier Minyon, check out the website.
When I went to NYC for fashion week, one of the showrooms I visited was the Atelier Minyon showroom in the SoHo. If you know me, you know that I don’t really wear jewelry, but the jewelry there was amazing. I could see myself wearing some the of rings and necklaces. Thanks Erin for showing me around.
Everything is inspired by Turkey and Turkish culture. The designer is Turkish too. Some of the pieces feature animals, and others feature actual Turkish buildings and columns. The pieces range in price from $80 to thousands of dollars. Most pieces are not only handmade, but one of a kind. My favorite piece was the bracelet molded from opossum bones and studded with upside jewels. Very cool.

The good people at Maurices.com were kind enough to give me a gift card. I used it to get some accessories to review. I hope you love the video. I decided to showcase accessories since I am always reviewing clothes. While perusing their site yesterday, I found out that they are having a Summer Sale. Don’t miss out.
