This is an honest review. I was gifted these boots from River Island.
I was recently contacted by someone from River Island to check out their products. I had never shopped there before because they used to only carry straight sizes and I am plus sized. A while ago the British retailer introduced plus sizes to their product line. They come in sizes 14-24, and are actually really cute. That isn’t much of a surprise considering how fashionable the straight size line is.
Sorry I have been away for some long. Two weeks seems like an eternity, but I have been busy with school. I only have a few weeks left and two weeks ago I had midterms. Everything is going by so fast.
Anyway. For today’s Accessory Minute, I wanted to write about plus size rings because I have large fingers. I think my ring size is a 10, so I always have trouble finding cute, stylish rings to fit my finger. ASOS Curve has a ton of rings on their site.
The Kristi from boohoo is the perfect strappy high heeled sandal. It is hot and very sexy. It looks really uncomfortable, but who cares because you are going to look so cute in them. I can see people rocking these shoes in jeans, with a cute dress, or even an evening dress. For $44 at boohoo, you can’t beat that. How would you rock these?
I love leather totes. I have been using them since I can remember. They are the perfect travel bag. Have a carry-on that is not only useful, but stylish too. They are great to take on tours around the city because they can hold a lot of things. You can take them to work and use them as the female equivalent to the male briefcase. If you are an animal lover, please know that these type of totes still come in plenty of faux leather options that still have the same or similar look and feel without hurting animals.
Pointy toe flats are everywhere this spring. I first saw them gaining some traction last spring. Now they are out in stores in different colorways and textures. I love these flats because you can wear them to work, out on the town, or casually throughout the day. You know how I love items that bring longevity to my wardrobe. The sad thing about pointy toe shoes is that they don’t usually fit the wider foot. #flatfootstruggles. The struggle is real y’all. So if you can flaunt it, go right on ahead. Do you like this trend? It is easy on the eyes or a pain in the butt? Photo from Target.
Hobo bags are casual and cool. You can slouch them over your arm and go. If you are looking for the ultimate “I want to look stylist without really trying” bag, then try a hobo. They are great to take to the beach, the gym, to run errands around town. Some of the leather ones are great to dress up an outfit. They also may have metal hardware on them that gives them a more sophisticated look. They also have really plain ones now that are great for an everyday minimal look
Today in Accessory Minute, I wanted to write about one of my favorite accessory trends of the past few years-the mini bag. I love mini bags. I am one of those people that try to carry their entire home in a bag, purse, backpack, whatever. Mini bags force you to cut things down to the bare necessities. You can’t carry 20 lip glosses in a mini bag, and that is the beauty of the mini bag.
I loved the details and embellishments shown on the clothes and the accessories at the Dolce & Gabbana show at Milan Fashion Week. While everyone was talking about the pregnant models and the babies going down the runway, for me the shoes were my favorite part. Some were velvet, some were furry, and some had all of these sequins and things on them. I love the basic black pumps, and the slingbacks too, but who can resist a Mary Jane pump. I love Mary Janes. I just might have to incorporate them into my fall wardrobe. I have months to plan. Photo from here.
90s style shoes are all the rage at Topshop this spring. They have many shoes that were popular in the 90s, and I am not mad at that. I love chunky platforms, espadrilles, and mules. A lot of these shoes are under $100, so they won’t break your style budget. Get in on the trend before it is too late. Footwear is one area you can have fun in this spring! Check out all the latest styles below.
August is here and now is the time to stock up on pre-fall booties. I have to go to the mall every week as a homework assignment to observe things for class- such a difficult assignment I know- and I have been noticing all of the new fall merchandise.
Light sweaters, dressy sweatpants, wool blazers, and light coats have been posted up in stores since most summer sales ended last week. When I move over to the shoe section, I can see the first few pairs of pre-fall booties. These booties are great because they can be worn late summer and all the way through winter
and low key through early spring and summer too.
This pair from Solestruck is great because you can get a black pair, a white pair, or a pair with both colors. Black and white can go with most anything in your wardrobe, and the platform should make them easier to walk in and wear. Also ignore that haters that say you can’t wear white after Labor Day. Every year I say that, and every year someone gets in a tizzy over that. Bah I say! Bah!
Anyway the booties are selling for $64.95, but you can get 30% if you sign up to their website. You also get 40% sale shoes for their 10th anniversary sale. You must be signed in to get both sales and it ends Thursday at noon. Happy pre-fall shopping! 🙂
The ASOS Summer Sale is Now at up to 70% off! That is a whole lot of wow! The shoes are cute and vary from winter to summer season shoes. The prices are great too! The only thing is that now that the sale has been going on for some time, a lot of the sizes are gone. Run…don’t walk to the ASOS Summer Sale!

Spring is here, and it is finally bringing us some warmer weather-
even if it is a few degrees or two. Anyway. I saw the Jeffrey Campbell Hough Heel from Shop Nasty Gal and just had to share. The shoe comes in black and these super chic nude pair. The shoes look really good with jeans and floral dresses.

You read that right. Ugly shoe are making a comeback in stores and are marching their way right back into many of our wardrobes. The ugly shoe trend encompasses a sort of perfectly imperfect style that is slowly creeping into the fashion world. I first noticed in the summer of 2013 how the new and fashionable chunky heels were selling quickly in all of my favorite shoe stores.
One of the places I always visit while in New York City is the Atelier Minyon jewelry store on Spring Street. I miss walking in there and watching the designer, Alp Sagnak, work on pieces right in front of you on the showroom floor. It is very exciting to see.
Super cute and super cool eyeglasses and sunglasses brand Warby Parker just released their new Spring 2014 collection with eight new shapes and six new colors. I am loving all of them. The very round and owly Quimby frame is mah fave! I love all of the colors and shapes. The old school nerdy feel is more of my thing when it comes to picking out glasses, so I have always been a fan of Warby Parker. Check out the new collection here! Which pair do you like?
I am in the midst of a snowstorm, I am looking at the perfect spring sandal from Forever 21. The fast fashion brand has really uped their shoe game of late. Even though these shoes come in black, the taupe color is my favorite. Nude shoes are really good for offsetting an outfit because of the neutral color.
These past weeks have seen some icy weather, and that calls for some infinity scarves. I love infinity scarves this time of year because they warm the neck and can cover the face. I know plenty of people up north that could use these types of scarves. I always say that if you aren’t going to knit or crochet your own, you should stop by Target. Target always has the best selection on infinity scarves every year. The prices are always right too. Infinity scarves are on sale this week. Go out and get yours before the next winter storm.
Over the holidays, family and friends gather together to celebrate and be festive. You can’t be dressed to the nines without a statement necklace. Forever 21 has a ton of them. My intern Maddy loves the Lacquered Link Necklace. A statement necklace works great for all holiday events and occasions. The Lacquered Link Necklace is the necklace every girl needs, not to mention it comes in four great colors (black, green, magenta, and peach)! It is classy enough for any holiday party, and causal enough to be worn to just about any occasion. Another aspect about this necklace is that it has a unique look for an affordable price- $10.80. I highly recommend this necklace, especially during this appropriate time of year.
Don’t forget about the $140 Target Gift Card Contest!
