Have you seen the Lupita Nyong’o for Lancome ads? It feels so good to see a woman of color, and a dark skinned one at that, in a makeup ad. According to the Daily Mail, the Advertising Standards Authority in England has banned certain beauty ads in the country for being too airbrushed. This isn’t the first time England has done this either. They claim that the ads are misleading and MP Jo Swinson says they create a false impression of beauty. Swinson and Lynne Featherstone, the equalities minister, have set up a Campaign for Body Confidence.
