Of Note- Narciso Rodriguez

Narciso Rodriguez is a Cuban-American designer who has seen his share of ups and downs in the industry. When he first announced to his parents that he wanted to become a designer, they were less than thrilled. He applied to Parsons anyway. From there he went on to design for a handful of designers like Anne Klein, Calvin Klein, Cerruti, and TSE. He gained super-stardom after he designed Carolyn Bessette’s wedding dress. After some bad business dealings, he fell into debt. Thanks to fashion industry and celebrity friends, he was able to get back on his feet again. He has even designed some clothes for Michelle Obama.

Of Note… Patrick Robinson

By now I’m sure you’ve heard the news that Patrick Robinson is out at The Gap. Most people were shocked to hear it but not surprised as the designer had never found his groove at one of the world’s most famous mall chains.

Robinson started out as a fashion phenomenon in the mid-nineties after graduating from The Parsons School of Design in New York City. He worked for Paco Rabanne, Perry Ellis, Anne Klein and Giorgio Armani (where he managed to make the line profitable and popular). He then went on to become a member of both the CFDA and Vogue’s 100 Rising Stars. He is also married to Vogue’s Virgina Smith.
