How To Fill In Your Eyebrows

I was at my friend’s house recently, and the conversation turned to filling in eyebrows. Even though my friend has great brows, I suddenly realized that filling in your eyebrows can become somewhat of a scary art school project, but it doesn’t have to be this way. Thankfully GossMakeupArtist came up with a great tutorial for filling in your eyebrows that is easy peasy lemon squeezy. Check it out!

Preparing Your Skin for Fall and Winter

Summer is almost over, and the days of lounging around under the sun will soon come to an end. Fall will be the start of the cold months which takes a lot of toll on our skin. Here are some tips to help prepare your skin for the new season.

Do Not Forget The Sunblock: Just because the sun isn’t out that much, it doesn’t mean that it isn’t damaging our skin. Due to this notion, people actually tend to damage the skin more during this season. An added bonus of wearing sunblock would be the extra moisture it gives your skin. You can even wear cream-based sunblock which you couldn’t do during the summer.

Freeman Feeling Beautiful Facial Clay Mask Mint & Lemon

Freeman Feeling Beautiful Facial Clay Mask Mint and Lemon

Freeman’s Feeling Beautiful Facial Clay Mask Mint & Lemon has been a mighty, mighty lifesaver for me this summer. I used to have combination skin. Then I went to college and my combination, basically pimple free skin, became a war zone of oil and acne. While I still battle with the acne from time to time, my face produces less oil. I know it has to be this mask that I use 3 times a week. The Freeman Feeling Beautiful Facial Clay Mask Mint & Lemon dries up my oily skin and leaves my face feeling soft and brand new.

Clipless Curling Iron

If you’re not a hair guru like me, it gets frustrating when you just can’t let your hair fall the way you want to. Beachy waves are perfect for the summer but sometimes getting it perfect takes too much time and effort. I’ve been using a regular curling iron all my life and I never ever did my hair. I always asked someone else because I always got burnt. When I stumbled upon this video, I was amazed at how easy it looked and how great the curls looked like in the end. Clipless Curling Irons, like regular curling irons, comes in different sizes depending on how big you want your curls. Get an iron that’s coated in ceramic to protect your hair and leave it shiny.

*Jai Tip: I have a clipless curling iron. When buying one, make sure that it either comes with a heat protectant glove or you can get one from Sally’s for less than $5. Try the Conair CD117 Infiniti You Curl Tourmaline Ceramic Curling Iron, color may vary for tighter curls or the Cortex Curling Iron, Black, 1″ for bigger curls.
Clipless curling irons are available online and in most beauty stores. I know I want one right now.

Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse Foundation

I have always wondered about the Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse Foundation because I had heard some great things about this product for African-American skin. Here is a great review from Rose Anne Tang on how to apply the Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse Foundation , how to make it look smooth and less cakey, and the pros/cons of the product. I hope you found this tutorial as helpful as I did. I may be trying this out soon.

DIY Trench Coat and NYX Eye Pencil and Milani Glitzy Gloss Review

Today I am bringing you a video where I talk about how I made a sleeveless trench coat, which is very chic right now, and I review some beauty products I bought. Iย  recently bought the 3D Glitzy Glosses from Milani Cosmetics and the Jumbo Eye Pencils from NYX Cosmetics. Check out the video to see how I liked or disliked them.

For the Trench Coat- You can take a trench coat from anywhere. I just happened to buy mine off of Ebay. You can either cut the sleeves off or use a seam ripper like I did. Seam rippers are cheap. Also make sure you buy some fray check from Walmart or any craft/fabric store. This will help you keep the frays in check.

Of Note…Pat McGrath

After looking at last Thursday’s Prada show, I think we can all say that Pat McGrath is THE Mistress of Make-up, which is why she is the first in a new series I like to call “Of Note.” The look was natural with pinched pink lips, pink cheeks, and light, natural brown eyes. Whenever you see an editorial or runway show with spectacular faces, it is usually her creation. The self-taught beauty queen from England was inspired by her Jamaican motherโ€™s love of fashion, make-up, and old movies. Those influences taught her more about make-up artistry than the few art foundation courses she took at Northampton Art College ever did.

Boscia’s Luminizing Black Mask Is Tempting Me

I really want to try Boscia’s Luminizing Black Mask. They sell it at Sephora, and it has had nothing but rave reviews from every magazine and website that I have read.ย  I think this will be an excellent mask to de-stress with at the end of the day. What do you think?

This is what Sephora says:

This jet-black, mineral-rich mask creates a unique peel-off effect that delivers powerful detoxifying, purifying, and brightening results. Made with a premier-quality clay, its deep-cleansing properties draw out dirt and oil. Other natural ingredients go to work exfoliating skin and refining pores. Powerful antioxidants shrink pores, firm skin, and reduce inflammation. Once dried, the mask strips away dead skin, impurities and excess oil to reveal immediate and visible results.
