Every season there seems to be more and more shows, with more and more trends, touted by more and more designers. Even menswear is feeling the effects of the “commercialization” or rather popularization of fashion and because of this, the sector is being hit with more pieces, trends, and collections than ever before. But as dutiful writers we sift through all of this to bring you our favorites, and so the following are a few of my favorite shows from the Menswear Spring 2012 fashion weeks.
Narciso Rodriguez is a Cuban-American designer who has seen his share of ups and downs in the industry. When he first announced to his parents that he wanted to become a designer, they were less than thrilled. He applied to Parsons anyway. From there he went on to design for a handful of designers like Anne Klein, Calvin Klein, Cerruti, and TSE. He gained super-stardom after he designed Carolyn Bessette’s wedding dress. After some bad business dealings, he fell into debt. Thanks to fashion industry and celebrity friends, he was able to get back on his feet again. He has even designed some clothes for Michelle Obama.
New Shoes Up At TFAS Shop!
I logged unto The Cut today and what did I see… David Agbodji in all his hot, hot, hot chocolate glory. No wonder this summer has been so hot. The weather was preparing me for the Calvin Klein Fall 2010 ads. CLAWDAMERCY ON ME!
I love this campaign for Calvin Klein because it features one of my favorite male models, Sean O’Pry. He’s hot, from damn near Atlanta, and he’s hot. You can catch the rest of the campaign at The Fashionisto. Enjoy!
