Now that spring is here sandals are becoming a key piece to everybody’s must have shoe. The shoe of the week this week is gladiator sandals seen in the pictures above. The first picture is from one of Alexander Wang’s recent fashion show. He showed off a trend which is still going strong. Chanel Iman wore a pair of his gladiator shoes at the 2013 Coachella Music festival in Indio, California last year. Personally gladiator sandals are my favorite shoes to wear during the spring and summer season. These shoes are a simply yet fashionable way to spice up your outfit. Photos from here.

After being fired from Dior, John Galliano has apologized for his actions by releasing a statement saying, “Anti-Semitism and racism have no part in our society. I unreservedly apologize for my behavior in causing any offence.”
According to WWD:
In the statement, Galliano made no mention of the video, but said he takes responsibility for the “circumstances in which I found myself and for allowing myself to be seen to be behaving in the worst possible light. I only have myself to blame and I know that I must face up to my own failures and that I must work hard to gain people’s understanding and compassion. To start this process I am seeking help and all I can hope for in time is to address the personal failure which led to these circumstances and try and earn people’s forgiveness.

I am happy that he finally decided to apologize. I just wish he had done this sooner. I am also happy that Galliano is “seeking help.” There have been rumors of his alcoholism for a while now, and since yesterday, there has been a rumor going around that he has checked himself into the Meadows rehab facility in Arizona at the urging of friends. Hopefully he will see the error of his ways, and actually understand the gravity of his mistake.
I will say this. I am very upset that Franca Sozzani, Georgio Armani, Chanel Iman,Patricia Field and others have come to his defense. They should have condemned him. When my friends do something wrong, I let them know. I don’t sugar coat anything, and I expect them to do the same with me. That is what being a real friend truly is. I am sick and tired of the fashion industry sticking up for people who do stupid things just because they are are good at making clothes or shooting pictures or editing magazines. If you are wrong, you are wrong. The people of the fashion industry need to learn to take accountability for their actions.
UPDATED: Galliano will stand trial
From The Telegraph:
The Paris Prosecutors Office has issued a statement saying it has decided to put John Galliano on trial following a police investigation. The proceedings could take place in the second quarter of this year, and Galliano could face up to six months in prison, and up to €22,500 in fines, if convicted.
It looks like Vogue Italia is doing the all black model thing again with The Black Allure editorial, and I am not upset. While I hate for this to be a gimmick, I am in love with this editorial. It features almost all of the top black models of today like Joan, Jourdan, Chanel, Sessilee, Ajak, Arlenis, and more. The editorial is so gorgeous. The colors, lighting, clothes, setting, and makeup are to die for! What do you think? Photos from Fashin.
Chanel Iman does it again in her debut cover of Harper’s Bazaar Dubai.
P.S. I need to find new “Bad Bishes” but people aren’t stepping their game up.

The new House of Style was made strictly for teenagers, with its talk of friendship bracelets and sponsorship from Teen Vogue. Here are a few things that I noticed about the show:
- Charlotte Ronson didn’t smile once, but she did manage to to say one word, “Yeah”
- MTV used every chance they could get to put Bar Rafaeli in a bikini.
- Since we are on the topic of Bar, let’s talk about how she is a good host, but tries to be like Heidi Klum a little too much.
- I am glad Chanel Iman is getting face time, but I feel like they could have showed her more.
- Jessica Stam’s segment was great. She would have made a better host.
- Erin Fetherston is cool, but her voice was annoying. I like how spaced out and whimsical she is. The party she organized was beautiful and I need to find a way to make her party masks.
- I also loved the My House of Style segments. They took regular people and they discussed their style like a streetwear blog post.
