So I have been cleaning and rearranging and updating my decor for the past two weeks now. One of the things I needed to do was update my craft storage. I ended up buying a storage container with three drawers in it. When I finally get a bigger place, I would love to have a separate room for my crafts. I mean who doesn’t dream of a neat and tidy craft storage room? These pictures from Pinterest should give me proper craft storage inspiration.

Crafty Feast Features: Shop Not Made In China

Shop Not Made In China

Shop Not Made In China was one of my favorite booths at Crafty Feast. Nikki Mueller’s ode to buying homemade items made right here in the US of A features cute buttons, hand mirrors, paper products, and tote bags. She also does custom made items. Her items are funny, bright, and are guaranteed to make you smile. The phrases on her products are pretty bad ass.

My favorite items are the buttons and book binding zines. The buttons have funny catchphrases pertaining to Charlotte and Ashville, North Carolina, South Carolina, and the upcoming Democratic National Convention next summer.  The book binding zine teaches you the art of Japanese bookbinding. Just typing that makes me excited to try it. You can buy her items on the Shop Not Made in China website or Etsy. Photo from the Shop Not Made In China Etsy.

Personal Goals and Aspirations/Maura Kelly Update

So I have talked about wanting to sew since I was a little girl and on this blog since the beginning. The problem is that I have broken about 6 or 7 sewing machines. I think the number is at 6. The last time I tried to sew something I got to the bottom of the dress and the machine stopped working. It literally let out a large sigh and blew up or clonked out on me.
Janome Hello Kitty sewing machine

I really like this Hello Kitty Janome Sewing Machine. Everybody says it is easy to use and sews slowly. One of the reasons my last sewing machine broke was because I wasn’t used to the speed of the needle. It was way to fast. Every website that I have been on has given this sewing machine great ratings. I think this is going to be my Christmas gift to myself. Wish me luck!

Also I haven’t spoken on the Maura Kelly controversy because I feel like everyone has said what I wanted to say. Fat people are people. Skinny people are people. Black-Mexican-Indian-Insert Any Race Here are people. Gay people are people. Insert any and every marginalized person here. I think the people that said what I wanted to say the best are Depeche Mode.

Here are the lyrics to their song People are People.

People are people so why should it be
You and I should get along so awfully

So we’re different colours
And we’re different creeds
And different people have different needs
It’s obvious you hate me
Though I’ve done nothing wrong
I never even met you
So what could I have done

I can’t understand
What makes a man
Hate another man
Help me understand

People are people so why should it be
You and I should get along so awfully

Help me understand

Now you’re punching and you’re kicking
And you’re shouting at me
I’m relying on your common decency
So far it hasn’t surfaced
But I’m sure it exists
It just takes a while to travel
From your head to your fist

I can’t understand
What makes a man
Hate another man

Help me understand
