Easy boho chic style is not hard to find at Avenue. They have a ton of great pieces for any occasion and style, but there boho chic pieces really caught my eye. They look so fun to wear, and they are very on trend with fashion today. I love when you can find some plus size clothes that fit today’s style instead of “new” plus size clothes that are seriously dated. Y’all know that is a pet peeve of mine. I really, really hate when certain plus size brands are behind the times. It is annoying. Anyway. These dresses that I found at Avenue are super cute and fun for the summer.
With the tensions between Cuba and the US dying down, and the recent Chanel Resort fashion show in Cuba, it is no small wonder that Latin American inspiration is a big trend in fashion right now. Brands are making fabrics with tropical plants and animals on them. Bright, bold colors are showing up on many garments, and tassels and fringe are adorning the trims of many of the pieces being released into stores today.
A week ago I celebrated my mother’s birthday by taking her to the mall. One of the stores we spent a lot of time in was Vince Camuto. My mother left that store with about four pairs of heels. Since I injured my knee, I only left the Vince Camuto Store with one pair of ballet flats that had a memory foam like insole. The shoes are very comfortable. Actually Vince Camuto is known for having very comfortable, yet super stylish shoes.
Finding great fitting wide calf boots is hard. Very, very hard. Luckily for us gals with wide calves, there are a lot more options out there than years before. Stores like Eloquii, Avenue, Ashley Stewart, and Lane Bryant are giving us options to two step in. Literally! I have never seen so many options for wide calves every! Another thing that I like about all of these options is that a lot of these boots are now coming in wide calf, wide feet or extra wide calf, extra wide feet. I had a hard time finding wide calf boots that would fit my equally wide foot. The fact that companies are making that kind of option now is amazing!
Have you been checking out British retailer New Look lately? I bought a few things from their Inspire line a few years ago, and then forgot about them. I don’t know why. They have cute plus size clothes at very affordable prices and wide width shoes. After listening to the panelists at The Curvy Fashionista Style Expo, I decided to hop back on the site. I am still loving their clothes, shoes, and prices. One of them things that I found was this uber cute, uber now suedette skater skirt. 70s boho chic is in right now, and this skirt embodies that look without going full boho. Sidenote: I am a fan of the boho look, but in moderation. This skirt is perfect to wear now, and it is super perfect to wear later with some tights and boots or chunky platform heels during the fall. The price is 19 British pounds which should be about 32 Us Dollars. You can’t beat that!
Hi! This week’s currently craving is a brand; Harper & Liv. Harper & Liv, a millennial plus-size clothing brand created for stylish plus-size women who has no problem embracing her curves in quality clothing, and who has a flirtatious and fun sense of style.
All items will range in price from $39.00 to $129.00. The summer collection will be available in department stores like Dillard’s – in store as well as online, in May. Included in this line will be detailed suede, faux leather and faux fur high fashion pieces. By the fall season Harper & Liv plan to have the brand in Lord & Taylor as well as Macy’s. Harper & Liv Take a look at a few of our favorite pieces below!
I am currently craving bell bottom jeans. I am actually craving high-waisted bell bottom jeans, but any bell bottom jean will do. This is a 70s pants trend that I really love, along with last week’s culottes. They look rather good with some platform wedges or heels or a little Birkenstock sandal. I have found some in most stores right now. The trend is that strong. If the widest bell bottom isn’t your style, start small with a bootcut jean instead. Have you started shopping for bell bottom jeans yet or are you just not into them? Photo from Simply Be.
Culottes are the hot new trend in fashion right now, but they actually aren’t that new. They were popular in the 70s. Yup! That’s right! Another 70s fashion trend is making a way back into stores and into our closets. I love culottes. They are very comfortable, and plus sized gals can wear them too!
So you may recall me talking about how I am shopping for dresses to wear to several weddings this year on the blog and social media. Well I still am looking for some plus size dresses because I just learned that one of the weddings will be held outside. That changes things. Now I need to find something that won’t be too hot or too cold depending on the weather.
Today’s currently craving designer/brand is Anna Scholz, a former plus size model and a UK based designer. Anna Scholz is a luxury plus size fashion designer who is known for her bright prints, and luxury fabrics. The Anna Scholz brand has created both the White Label premium collection and the Black Label Diffusion collection.
The White Label Premium is a collection of luxury products made especially for curvy women, whereas the Black Label Diffusion collection is a collection of designs sold at lower prices for women on a budget. I already know which collection I belong too; I’m as cheap as cheap can get.
Today, Anna Scholz released her first Autumn/Winter 14 piece collection online! There’s a mesh skater dress that I have absolutely falling in love with!
Here’s a look at a few new pieces:
Are you a fan of Anna Scholz? Have you seen anything from the Autumn/Winter collection that has you reaching for your wallet? If so, what? Let’s chat!

Happy day before the 4th of July! It’s Currently Caving Thursday and today’s featured designer/brand is Lucie Lu! Their designs come in sizes 1x (14-16) to 5x (30), so you’re guaranteed to walk away with something! This collection also allows you to put your own “mix and match” twist on the items to show off your individual style.
Does the name The Curvy Elle sound familiar? It should! Laurel, a blogger and aspiring fashion designer, is this week’s currently craving designer/brand!
The Etsy shop, The Curvy Elle, features plus size vintage and modern vintage clothing. The shop features items such as pleated skirts, shoes, tunic blouses, cross body purses, etc. This shop definitely has a vintage feel, especially with these 1950s suede shoes.
Since summer is finally here, I decided to feature a few skirts and a pair of shorts as my currently craving picks!
Sale alert: The Curvy Elle is currently having a sale!
These past weeks have seen some icy weather, and that calls for some infinity scarves. I love infinity scarves this time of year because they warm the neck and can cover the face. I know plenty of people up north that could use these types of scarves. I always say that if you aren’t going to knit or crochet your own, you should stop by Target. Target always has the best selection on infinity scarves every year. The prices are always right too. Infinity scarves are on sale this week. Go out and get yours before the next winter storm.
Over the holidays, family and friends gather together to celebrate and be festive. You can’t be dressed to the nines without a statement necklace. Forever 21 has a ton of them. My intern Maddy loves the Lacquered Link Necklace. A statement necklace works great for all holiday events and occasions. The Lacquered Link Necklace is the necklace every girl needs, not to mention it comes in four great colors (black, green, magenta, and peach)! It is classy enough for any holiday party, and causal enough to be worn to just about any occasion. Another aspect about this necklace is that it has a unique look for an affordable price- $10.80. I highly recommend this necklace, especially during this appropriate time of year.
Don’t forget about the $140 Target Gift Card Contest!
I decided to do a 25 Home Gifts Under $25 because I am moving a few weeks, and you don’t see as many home gift giving guides as you should. Home accessories and housewares are items that I have recently been getting into. I love interior design, and I love giving gifts. Home items are the perfect gifts to give someone who has just moved, is planning on moving, or is redecorating their home. You can also give them to people on the regular too.
I am currently craving cute plus size coats. Now is the bet time to buy coats because a lot of websites are having sales. I know plus size website Avenue is one of those sites having sales on items. The coats that I posted below are beautiful and come from all price ranges. I added some low cost coats and some higher end coats. It is about to start getting cold. Don’t get caught out there blowing in the wind. Also check out the Currently Craving link on the sidebar to see all of my recent must have items that have me gagging. Photo from ASOS.
