I recently opened up an Etsy shop full of 8 x 10 printables called PotentQuotesEtsy. Everything is $10, and you can get them printed in any paper at your local print shop or at home. Some of them have Bible quotes on them, some of them are monograms, and others are sorority art and stationary. I decided to make a little printable shop to make money on the side since I am still looking for a job after graduation, and I need to fund my fashion design dreams. If you see something you like, please support. Thanks.

Etsy Love- Bel Nouvo Avocado and Shea Healthy Hair Milk

Bel Nouvo

Bel Nouvo I hope you all had a safe and pleasant holiday weekend! So umm who knew Etsy sold beauty products beyond soaps? Well I just did when I went looking to restock my Bel Nouvo Avocado and Shea Healthy Hair Milk. I am in love with the Bel Nouvo Avocado and Shea Healthy Hair Milk! It has worked wonders on my hair and I can’t say enough crazy good things about it. I received a tiny little sample at Fro Fashion Week in February. Since then I have been using it every now and then when I feel I need moisture or wash my hair.

I am almost out of the bottle and I need a new one, so I decided I was going to buy a full size bottle. Since I can’t find this brand anywhere in my neck of the woods, I decided to look online. I was able to find the leave-in conditioner on Etsy for $10! I can’t wait to buy some because it is so good. It doesn’t coat my hair or make it feel heavy, you only need a little bit of this thick and very creamy stuff for each section of hair. Plus it has so many uses: Hair Moisturizer, Leave-In Conditioner,  and Detangler!  Also be sure to check out the Bel Nouvo Facebook page for sales and other natural hair tips.

Etsy Love- Curious Creatures’ Rope Bracelet with Brass Tubes

etsy jewelry

etsy jewelry

I have been scouring Etsy again for cute and unforgettable items. Today I found a cute little jewelry shop on Etsy called the Curious Creatures Shop. Curious Creatures jewelry shop features cute, yet sophisticated jewelry at really sweet prices. The jewelry Larissa sells looks very simple, airy, and organic. There is something very natural about the pieces that drew me to them.. You could find jewelry like this at some expensive online or local boutique, but everything here is priced between $18- $42! I feel like it should be more because everything is so pretty and looks so well made. Look at these rope bracelets! The bracelets  fit like a square on your arm because of the brass tubes and come in two colors, Stark Black and Soft Mauve. They are prefect for paring together or separately and are priced at $26. That’s not bad at all. Take a gander at the Curious Creatures Shop on Etsy. Also be sure to check out her awesome blog!

DIY in the dark

If you live in Europe, you probably have noticed that the sun isn’t up for as long anymore. It goes up late, and down early. Which means it is officially winter, and the dark means outside isn’t as tempting anymore.

That’s why I’ve decided to make a small list of things to do when the night fills you with the kind of restlessness I’ve been feeling lately.

1.Make a Journal, DIY style.

If anyone knows how to do the DIY’s and do them pretty, it sure is Elsie. Her blog is filled with fun and super cute DIY’s, so if you haven’t already seen her blog, do it now!

2. Raid the flea markets!

Well, this one is of course best done during daylight, so you can actually see anything. But if you get a chance, try to look at every piece, take your time and bargain a lot. Redecorating has never been so much fun.

But nowadays there’s also online flea markets, like eBay of course, and now is the ultimate time to find cute and quirky Christmas gifts online. Can easily be done with a cup of tea and a computer. Which I guess you already have, otherwise you wouldn’t be reading this.

If you don’t like the feeling of buying used goods, go to Etsy, or the very similar British place; Folksy.

If you’re surfing around Etsy a lot, you know how incredibly huge that site is. So it’s easiest to find the best things if you know what you’re looking for. There’s a risk you might buy everything from everybody otherwise.

3. Take up knitting!

You probably already know how to knit. If you don’t, this is the time to learn! Extremely relaxing and minimizes the chances of you freezing when the snow comes around. It also keeps your restless hands busy when watching television. Awesome, right? And imagine the looks of awe you’ll be getting from people when you tell them that you knitted your scarf yourself.

If you remember this week’s post, then you know that our editor Jai highly recommends knitting, too!

4. Manis & Pedis

The seasonal nail polish is in full bloom. The millions of different red shades cleverly named Christmas-themed and they are everywhere! I still have my “Cupid loves Comet” from OPI last year. Still works great.

So why not treat yourself to bright nails on both the top and bottom when the colors are slowly disappearing? Intern Angelena gave tips a few weeks back on how to do crazy junk nails. That will surely fill up your dark winter nights. And while you’re at it, put on a face mask and lie down, because there won’t be any calm when the Christmas shopping begins. And that’s soon.
