Faith 21 is now going to be Forever 21 + Plus Sizes. The name confused me at first, but Faith 21 actually grew on me. Now they are changing the name to something that I am going to have to get used to all over again. Apparently the clothes won’t change, just the name. How do you feel about the change?
Nitrolicious has the Forever 21/Faith 21 lookbook. I am excited that they combined the two lines together instead of separating them and I also like the direction that they are pushing the Faith 21 line. They added a new size level. Faith 21 now goes up to a 3X. Hopefully they will go up so more. I would like for them to go to at least a 5X if they really want to call it a plus size line.
I also like the look of this collection. The mixture of stripes and floral prints are very trend on for spring and easy for mall shoppers to digest without getting to high fashion. The colors are bright just like we saw on some of the spring 2010 runways and they are introducing their version of the striped Breton sailor shirt. It is all very classic and extremely cute!
Ok so Forever 21 puts out a “plus size” clothing line, and this is the size chart.
I am so not amused. They still alienated a whole bunch of people, my size 18/20 self included. I can’t wait for Target’s new plus size line to come out. It is supposed to go up to at least a 30. Even Wet Seal’s plus size line goes higher than Phony 21’s. Some shirts go up to a 3X, but the pants go up to a 24. Photo from Fake 21.
If you are as angry as I am please call these numbers, go here to fill out a form and complain. They should listen since they said that so-called listening made them get a plus-size line.

I’ve waited basically my whole fucking life for this, and I still get played.
UPDATE: Marie Denee from The Curvy Fashionista featured a quote from me in an article she wrote about this hot mess of a plus size clothing line experiment gone wrong!
Forever 21’s new plus-sized line comes out on Friday, May 1st. While I like the idea of them having a line, I just wish the line went up to more than just a 3x. I mean there are some stylish plus-sized ladies out there that wear a larger size.
All in all though, the clothes look cute. I am really digging the black floral dress and the blouses. I am pretty excited about the line, and since there isn’t a Forever 21 store near by, I will be shopping online on Friday. Yay!
