Last night during Fashion’s Night Out, I went to the Brooklyn Public Library for the Fashion Illustration: A Contemporary Look exhibit reception. The collection, curated by Brandon Graham , is one to behold. It is beautiful, and full of inspiration. The best part of the exhibit are the many illustrations done by Antonio Lopez, whose art defined and inspired the 80s. Check out the Facebook page for details. SOOOOO Najee Wilson from Tresfraisnajee, and I did a ton of stuff on Fashions Night Out. I totally posted pics of our trek across Manhattan on Tumblr., so you can check those out there and on Najee’s blog. Anyway, one of our last FNO stops was at the Opening Ceremony store at The Ace Hotel. OC had a street carnival where I won a cute plaid bowtie and Najee and I starred in a little video. That’s right! That is us in the video towards the beginning and the end, and it was a complete blast. The confetti I threw got stuck on my face and in Najee’s hair. This may be TMI, but after I took my bra off that night, I totally made it rain confetti in my hotel room. I think that qualifies as a good ass night!

It is official! Fashion’s Night Out will officially be on September 8th, 2011. Please mark your calendars accordingly because I heard the first year was the bomb.com. I experienced this year’s FNO and it was beyond fantastic. I saw so many people and got to experience a city come to life that night. It was amazing. You can check out all the craziness I encountered here.
I saw so many different things, and saw so many different famous people. Next year I am going to head to Soho early because I spent the bulk of my time uptown where the Saks and Barney’s stores are. That was fun, but I missed out on all the Soho fun. I mean I did get to see Amanda Lepore and Caswell in the Bowery, but that was after everything died down next door in Soho. Photo from Vogue.com.
Yesterday was crazy. I went to my school’s graduate fashion show, which was the best one yet. I got to see some guy from Project Runway, whose name I can’t remember, and Miss J from ANTM. I will do a separate post for that show, so I can actually review each graduate designer. This was the first time that I actually liked each collection.
The best part was doing Fashions Night Out. After leaving Lincoln Center, I took two trains to the famous 5th Avenue and took pictures of all the live models and craziness happening in the store windows. Gant and Louis Vuitton were my favs because Gant had naked lacrosse players posing and taking showers in the windows 🙂 and Louis Vuitton had people in brown LV aprons doing synchronized dancing down the steps and dancing in the store windows. One of the dancers in the window even licked a Speedy bag. ??!?!?!?
