To prove that, because of my cold, I have way too much time on my hands, I have decided to write in my iPad Notebook a little cheat sheet on the following fashion industry rumors. This is my way of keeping it all together. Since Galliano was fired from Dior a year ago, the fashion world has been going through a guessing game of which designer is going to which fashion house. This morning sees the rumors going on overdrive yet again.
That is the rumor going around. I first heard about Marc Jacobs leaving Louis Vuitton for Dior about a month ago and brushed it off. Now WWD is reporting on the rumor. If they are reporting on it, then the rumor must be true, or at least have some thread of truthiness. Jacobs is supposed to take buzz around the Dior label and turn it from bad, i.e. Galliano drama and lackluster runway reviews, to great. While Ricardo Tissci is still in the running for the job, Jacobs is seen as the new front runner. Phoebe Philo will reportedly take his place at Louis Vuitton, while still running things at Celine. One door opens and another one closes.

The Paris Fall 2011 Couture Shows are here again and beauty is among us. I am totally loving what I have seen so far. Alexis Mabille and Christian Dior brought the dramatics. If you are looking for a fantastical ball gown, stop there first. Anne Valerie Hash and Bouchra Jarrar showed the finer side of suiting for women by experimenting with neutral and bright shades. Giambattista Valli fell into a gap in between the other four designers by designing cake-like couture in a white, black, and pink palette.
Between the Galliano saga, the rumors that Pilati will leave YSL, and the sad rumor that Decarnin was a no show at the Balmain show because he was in a mental hospital, I have no clue what to think about Paris Fashion Week Fall 2011. Everything has gone crazing. Paris is truly burning. I had a small bit of time to look at the recent shows, which really means I looked at them around midnight when I should have been in bed. Here are some that caught my eye.
