I can’t wait for next week’s Gossip Girl episode 4.07-“War of the Roses”. It is going to be fabulous. Cynthia Rowley, Joe Zee, and Rachel Zoe are going to be on there. You know I love all of those people, especially Cynthia Rowley.
During next week’s episode Cynthia Rowley will be wearing a glass cabochon top and printed leather heels from the Spring 11 Collection, as well as a feather tutu now available at www.CynthiaRowley.com.
This week on GG they had Tim Gunn and Ivanka Trump, now this. I am really loving the cameos this season. Another cool thing is that the show will feature a performance by Robyn. I have loved her every since the mid-90s. I think I have all her singles, even the European ones and ones in Swedish. Total fan.
Pre-Fall 2010 collections came out last week and they are pretty interesting so far. I usually don’t pay that much attention to resort or pre-fall but everyone kept talking about how cool pre-fall was. I decided to give them a chance. So far everything looks good, but it looks like a continuation from last spring and fall. Photos from Style.com. Part two comes tomorrow.
This collection was a very sharp and serious turn for the young designer. He usually creates funky, laid back sportswear that you can wear anytime and almost anyplace. It reminded me of grown up work wear with a twist because there were a lot of trousers and shorts with trousers underneath. Wang said this collection was for the girl who has “to go to work sometime.”
Christopher Bailey did an awesome job with Burberry’s pre-fall collection. I thought the muted blues, khakis, plums, and blacks were great. The lines were crisp and the tailoring was sharp. This military themed collection went back to the company’s roots, and it worked out great.
Karl Lagerfeld showed a collection in the city that inspired it, Shanghai. The collection was also inspired by the military, so there were Asian prints mixed with Communist military uniforms. I liked how a good majority of the outfits were mostly dark with little bursts of yellow and red. I can also tell you that over the knee boots aren’t going anywhere.
DVF’s collection was colorful and very very youthful. It reminded me of something that the girls on The City or Gossip Girl would wear. The collection was full of cute colors and nifty patterns. There was also an abundance of cropped coats, pants, and shorts. Furstenburg designed a collection that was fun, hip, and cool.
The thing that caught my eye in this collection was the use of orange and the use of patterns. Patterns were used heavily throughout this collection and popped up on blouses and dresses. The color orange was barely used in this collection but stood out to me because of its brightness in a sea of black clothes that I could see women wearing either to work or out at night for a fancy dinner. It was a good solid collection.
Milan Fashion Week has begun! Yipee! Are you excited. One more week left and then Paris. I wish I could be there instead of South Carolina. ERGH!
Dolce and Gabbana knew what they were doing when they made their D&G; collection. It reminds me of an Urban Cowboy look with brown boots and jeans, prairie lace and leather. I can see a lot of women wearing this come springtime. I also loved the sunglasses. I would wear those if they would only make the cute sunglasses with prescription lenses. Le sigh… I noticed in The Sartorialist’s pictures that Italians have been doing the jean on jean thing for awhile, so maybe it will catch on elsewhere.
Giorgio Armani was full of that tailored elegance that we always expect from him. The color palette of electric blues and hot pinks reminded me of Miami Vice. I love that show. Yay reruns. The taffeta and houndstooth were driving me mad. I would take a standing room only seat just so I could see the fabric move in person. I saved over 20 pics from the show on my computer. They look that great!
Moschino Cheap and Chic was definitely really cute. I love when people combine black and pink together. I also like the prints and graphic tops. The polka-dots, bows, and daisy hats were amusing . It was a really cute collection that I could totally see Blair wearing on Gossip Girl. That “Amore” necklace and duck leotard made me smile.
I can’t stand Miss Carr from GG. She is so shady, and vindictive. They need to drop her character now.

While perusing the Forever 21 website, I saw their Top 10 Essential Style Picks.
I totally agree with their picks. I already told you that this spring season was going to feature a mix between edgy and prissy. The best way to explain it would be like looking at a screenshot of Gossip Girl with Vanessa and Blair evil eying each other. I really am digging this spring’s grungy/sweet factor because this is how I dress most of the time anyway. As a matter of fact, I just bought these boots from F21 last week. I can’t wait for them to come in the mail.
Oh and before I go, I want you to know that I do not endorse the L.A. Colors nail polish in the lower left of the picture because as soon as you put it on it chips. Sometimes the whole piece of polish just slid off of my nail. Anyway. Enjoy your day. LOL.
This is hilarity at its finest, and just one more reason why I should stay off of you tube. Thanks Southern Mothers.
Out of all the things that happened on GG tonight, I was left with only two question.
- Where were Nate and Vanessa?
- What happened between Blair and Jack Bass on NYE?
