Jimmy Choo for H&M

Jimmy Choo for H&M; is almost upon us. The limited edition collection enters stores on November 14th, so you have a few more days to save up some funds. The collection features shoes, accesories, bags, and clothes for men and women. Everything looks like something you would expect from Jimmy Choo, sexy, short, high, and tight. My nearest H&M; is 3 hours away, so I can forget about buying some discounted Jimmy Choos (insert sad face here). Hopefully you guys will have better luck.

Are H&M and Zara Moving To The Internet?

From Handbag.com:

High street brands H&M; and Zara are to launch online stores next year.

Two of the UK’s most popular high street brands, H&M; and Zara, will next year set up shop in the world’s busiest market place: the world wide web.

The long-awaited move by both companies is a bid to satisfy customer demand and an attempt to offset the negative effects of the recession.

In the case of H&M;, which originated in Sweden, the plan was buoyed by better-than-expected third-quarter profits. According to drapersonline.com, H&M; has this year opened 85 stores and closed nine, with the total now numbering 1,840.

Spanish label Zara, meanwhile, is joining the digital revolution as part of a shake-up by parent company Inditex. Kicking off with online sales in the UK, Spain, France, Germany, Italy and Portugal, the initiative will eventually be rolled out globally.

Issuing the group’s financial report to analysts last week, Inditex’s CEO and Deputy Chairman, Pablo Isla, called the launch, “An important strategic step, in line with the Inditex Group’s constant daily search to offer the best service to clients worldwide.”

With both sites on-track to launch with the stores’ autumn/winter 2010 collections late next year, we’re trying not to get too excited just yet, but we can’t help but fantasise about how much more exciting our virtual lunchtime shopping trips are about to become.

H&M + Jimmy Choo

From Reuters:

STOCKHOLM (Reuters) – Swedish budget fashion giant Hennes & Mauritz said on Wednesday luxury shoe maker Jimmy Choo Ltd would become the latest in its string of high-profile guest designers.

The world’s third biggest retailer by sales said the collection by Jimmy Choo Ltd, also known for its bags, would be available from November 14 in around 200 stores across the world.

“This autumn, British accessory brand Jimmy Choo will bring its international glamour and covetable shoes and bags to selected H&M; stores,” H&M; said in a statement. “It is the first time that H&M; is collaborating with an accessories brand.”

Malaysia-born Jimmy Choo, who founded the firm together with current Chief Executive Tamara Mellon, became known to many through cosmopolitan U.S. television series Sex and the City that started running in 1998, in which Jimmy Choo’s stilettos were among lead character Carrie’s favorites.

Jimmy Choo left the company in 2001, a H&M; spokeswoman said, and sold his share of the business.

U.S. first lady Michelle Obama wore shoes by Jimmy Choo Ltd on her husband’s Inauguration Day.

H&M; said the guest line would also include women’s clothing and a men’s collection of shoes, bags and accessories.

Other fashion greats that have collaborated with H&M; include Karl Lagerfeld, Viktor & Rolf, Roberto Cavalli, Stella McCartney and Comme des Garcons founder Rei Kawakubo.

Their launches have generated frenzied scenes as shoppers sought to buy chic designs at cut-rate prices, and some collections have sold out within minutes.
