H&M has an affordable Birkenstock alternative for you to try this summer for only $24.95. This slip-on sandal has two imitation leather straps that criss-cross over the foot, what seems to be a cork foot base, and then a rubber sole. If you really want to try the Birkenstock look without the price, this shoe is it. This is the cheapest version I have seen this season. Check it out at H&M.
H&M, the European fast fashion chain, has finally opens an online store it had delayed several times before. While other H&M markets around the world had an online store to shop from, shoppers here in America were beginning to get frustrated. Now you can shop H&M’s women’s, men’s, plus size, and kid’s lines, as well as the new home collection. Now shopper’s can breathe a sigh of relief. The new webstore has opened just in time, because the new Isabel Marant designer collaboration collection will be hitting H&M stores soon. Photo from H&M.
While Beyonce is busy touring for the Mrs. Carter Show over in Europe, she decided to low key drop two songs this week. Now we have a snippet of “Standing on the Sun” from Beyonce’s new fashion campaign for the H&M Summer Collection 2013. She looks amazing in the video dancing around on the beach and twirling in the sand with different color weaves and bikinis. She is definitely living the life.
Her fans had been clamoring for a new single though. They are getting downright impatient. That is what she had promised them late last year. We had only heard the snippet of Grown Woman in the new Pepsi commercial. We still only have this snippet of “Standing on the Sun”, but she has started to perform “Grown Woman” in full during her concert tour. Check out an HD clip on B Scott’s website. She looks absolutely fabulous in Kenzo. Don’t you think?
Masion Martin Margiela is the next designer to collaborate with H & M. This is super duper exciting! The collection for men and women will come out on November 15, 2012 and will be released online and at 230 stores. I can’t wait!!!!! Check out this teaser video below.
This fall, October 4th, you will be able to buy an accessories collection from Vogue editor Anna Dello Russo at H&M. This is great news for those that think she is a fashion icon…which she is. I mean who doesn’t want affordable jewelry and accessories designed by someone like her?!?!? Anyway. This video from H&M is supposed to introduce us to her, her inspiration, and her enviable closet.
According to H&M‘s mass email today, select stores will carry the Swedish brand’s plus size clothes in the States. Unfortunately despite clicking the link, I couldn’t figure out which ‘select stores’ are carrying the size 14-24 line. The clothes are really cute. Are they as trendy and stylish as the main line brand? Yes and no, but I think with time, unless they discontinue the line again, the clothes will get better. Photo from here.
Zara has finally set a date for their first American e-commerce site. The Spain based fast fashion chain will start selling clothes online to US shoppers on September 7th, the day before New York Fashion Week starts. I can’t believe that is a little more than a month away. I am too excited for this.
Earlier in the week, fast fashion chain H&M also revealed via Twitter that it too was going to open their online shop fro Americans, but they only revealed that it would be in early 2012. First they told us fall of 2011, now early 2012. They need to get on the ball and hurry up! Photo from Zara.
OMG!!! H&M will open a US webstore at the end of 2011. I can’t wait. What does this mean for those of you who, like myself, live hours away from the nearest H&M? Well… it means empty wallets. I wonder if we will be able to buy the designer collaborations online. That would be amazing because the nearest H&M is three hours away from me. I wish they would get online sooner.
Why don’t we have a Zara store near us? My town is finally getting a Forever 21. I don’t know if it will even carry the Forever 21+ brand. The closest H&M and and Zara stores are three hours away. I would have to drive for three hours, then get stuck in the crazy Atlanta traffic, and stay over night so I wouldn’t be sleepy on the ride home. Perusing the racks at H&M during Lanvin madness is out of the question. Checking out this new Zara collection in the flesh is out of the question as well.
H&M’s Holiday 2010 collection is a great collection for the whole family. As a matter of fact, they used the friends and family of several different models for the collection’s photos. As usual this Holiday collection features great dresses for the women and nice sweaters and pants for the guys.
The spirit of togetherness is the theme of H&M’s Christmas campaign. Personalities such as Liya Kebede, Lou Doillon and Mariacarla Boscono have all been photographed together with the people who mean the most to them. Stella Tennant shows off both party frocks and winter knits with her young daughters Jasmine and Cecily. Lou Doillon shows different party wear themes of tuxedos and party dresses with her friend Sebastien Andrieu, while model brothers Louis and Claude Simonon wear timeless winter cardigans with style.
Recently Ingmary Lamy was photographed in pieces from Lanvin ♥ H&M, very unusual to see someone older portraying as a model. A few “behind the scenes” shots have been released together with a video on the Swedish site Rodeo.
The result is still to come, but I think it looks great!

Did the people at Fashin catch a real preview of the Lanvin X H&M Collection?
I don’t like this Lanvin x H&M video because they blured all the dresses out. URGH!! They are being to secretive.
Is the secret finally out? WWD seems to think they know who H&M is going to collaborate with next. When I showed you the videos, I was stumped. There are men and women in the videos, and they all say really cryptic and unique things. WWD seems to think that the quotes are from none other then Alber Elbaz, Lanvin’s designer.
While the camera never lingers on the faces long enough for recognition in the clips, the voice-over of designer musings, while electronically altered, are unmistakable Elbaz-isms. “Design is very important because it actually brings dream to our life,” says one.
Here is one of the videos in the series.
H & M are coming out with some more designer collaborations, but they are a secret? You won’t be able to find out until September 9th! They do have these sneaky videos to tease you, but I can’t really think of who it would be. One does kind of look like Daphne Guinness to me, but I doubt it.
