TFAS & Jeff Silverman Shoes Collaborate

DSC_0617

Last September, I went to the IFB Emerging Influence Conference. One of the many sponsors there was Jeff Silverman. The shoe company was sponsoring a contest for a free pair of shoes, and I was one of the winners. Jeff Silverman’s slogan is “Fashion Nirvana. You Desire It. We Make It.” and that is the truth. The website sells ready made shoes and custom made shoes.

I’m sure you can tell which option I tried. I decided to make a pair of high heel desert boots. I have always wanted a pair, so now I had my chance to design them myself, with the help of Jeff Silverman of course. All I did was give them some images for inspiration and tell them what I was looking for in this particular shoe. You can design yourself some shoes, or pick a pair of ready made shoes. Go to Jeff Silverman now.

The IFB Emerging Influence Conference Was Beyond Amazing

Today I went to the IFB Emerging Influence Conference where I heard from¬† Mattias Swenson from Bloglovin’, Phil Oh from Streetpeeper, Yuri Lee from Lookbook, Gala Darling who changed her real name to Gala Darling, Susie Lau from Style Bubble, BryanBoy , Emily Schumann from Cupcakes and Cashmere, Amy Odell from The Cut, and Rumi Neely and her boyfriend Colin from Fashion Toast.

It was amazing. I met so many great people including Wendy Brandes, Deanne from Dream Sequins, and a slew of other bloggers that I either read about, talked to online, or met for the first time! I also got to speak with BryanBoy in person. It was so funny because we have spoken online off and on since 2005 and we never got to meet in person. When I told him who I was he just hugged me and we had so much fun having a quick chat. I am know I keep saying this on and offline, but I am really happy meeting the people that I have spoken with for one or more years online.

Some KEY highlights and blogging tips from the conference:

“Don’t do anything you don’t stand for.” -Mattias Swenson

“Every post should have something of value.” -Yuri Lee

“If I’m not passionate about it, I don’t write about it.” -Susie Lau

“Less is more.” -Emily Schuman

Fashion Week Starts Today

Hey Everyone! Fashion Week starts today, and I will be going to the IFB Conference to learn how to make my blog better from the inside out! Last night I went to a tweet-up with fellow bloggers, stylists, designers, and other industry people. I can’t wait to show you the clothes this designer I met made. They are really great! I will try to blog from my phone tomorrow. We will see how great this WordPress for BB app is. No promises though.

Here is a little something to hold you over until I can edit the blog properly.

They are they only fashion school in the country to show at the tents. You can view the live stream on September 10th, 2010 at 5 pm PST. I will also visit two different showrooms. I am also trying to meet up with some of my blogger friends, and I will attend the IFB Emerging Influence Conference. I am making the most of my week.
