Naomi Campbell slays at 44 years of age! She is a true supermodel…okokokokok!!!!! She looks amazing. Her body is insane. I can only hope and pray that my body looks somewhat like that when I get to be her age. Also doesn’t the shoot with Jourdan Dunn look super cute and fun. I love that these two brands chose black models to pose for and represent them. Here’s to hoping more brands follow suit soon!
Check out supermodel Jourdan Dunn in the December 2013 issue of Vogue. She was shot by Patrick Demarchelier. Since this is the holiday issue of Vogue, she aptly looks the part don’t you think? The plum eye makeup and the ruby nail polish adds to the holiday glam look, along with the David Morris jewels and Versace top. This is a very pleasant combination. I am already getting outfit ideas from this very picture! Photo spotted on Models of Color Tumblr.
If you are like me, you probably geeked all the way out when you saw the Spice Girls and the British Supermodels, Kate Moss, Naomi Campbell, Georgia May Jagger, Jourdan Dunn, Lily Cole, Stella Tennant, Lily Donaldson, Karen Elson, and David Gandy, hit the stage. I screamed so loud, you could probably hear me outside of the house. I sang and danced while the Spice Girls sang, and nearly fell out when the supermodels walked on the stage. I had a blast for all of the 2.5 seconds each group was on stage. Photos from Elle.
Nineteen year old model Rose Cordero is pregnant. You might remember that that is the same age that fellow black model Jourdan Dunn got pregnant. Dunn’s career, and the careers of numerous other models have survived their pregnancies in recent years, so I don’t think Cordero will have any problems. Plus her star is on the rise. She will have time to bounce back. I was wondering why I didn’t notice her much during the recent fashion weeks. Photo fro HuffPost.
Kanye West showed his debut womenswear collection in France for Paris Fashion Week on Saturday, and reviews are decidedly mixed. While I think the collection needed an edit, I thought it was a great first collection nonetheless. Not everyone’s first collection turns out that well, but then again Kanye had some help from Central Saint Martins students.
While I think there were some great moments in the line, like the salmon colored zipper dress that Jourdan Dunn wore, and the very low cut black dress, or the Giuseppi Zanotti x Kanye West heels. I also think there were some low moments, like the monster hoodie, and the fact that everything looked like it came from every designer show Kanye had seen in the past. I also didn’t like how the packed front row of the hottest celebrities, designers, and fashion editors barely clapped through the final walk.
He has a ways to go, but it was a great first start. How do you all feel?
Also, I got this video from Fashion Bomb Daily. I haven’t been able to do all of my usual fashion week reviews lately because I have been busy with my final semester of graduate school. If you want some great fashion show reviews, check out Fashion Bomb Daily.
It looks like Vogue Italia is doing the all black model thing again with The Black Allure editorial, and I am not upset. While I hate for this to be a gimmick, I am in love with this editorial. It features almost all of the top black models of today like Joan, Jourdan, Chanel, Sessilee, Ajak, Arlenis, and more. The editorial is so gorgeous. The colors, lighting, clothes, setting, and makeup are to die for! What do you think? Photos from Fashin.

Vogue just posted a blog item with this headline: “Expecting In Style: What The Pregnant Jourdan Should Wear This Fall.” And that is how they announced to the world the 19-year-old Dunn, who won Best Model at last year’s British Fashion Awards, is pregnant. Not just pregnant, but four months along pregnant (she’s due in December). Of course, when Vogue announces this news, they use it not as a platform for a discussion of society’s attitude toward or the pitfalls inherent in teen pregnancy, but an outlet for Vogue market editor Meredith Melling-Burke to pick out designer maternity clothes for her, yay! (She does the same for allegedly pregnant model Gisele and confirmed pregnant model Karolina Kurkova). It’s unclear who the father of Dunn’s child is. She should have plenty of money to take care of a kid after the impressive career she’s had so far. Sadly, she’ll probably be absent from Fashion Week in September. Tyra Banks better book Dunn for her talk show. Oprah would be better, but we’ll take what we can get.

Is this really the way she wanted her pregnancy announcement to come out, in a pregnancy style post from Vogue? Really…..Really????? And what is up with all the pregnant models. Something must be in the modeling agency’s water. Comment amongst yourselves.
