Have you seen the Lupita Nyong’o for Lancome ads? It feels so good to see a woman of color, and a dark skinned one at that, in a makeup ad. Women of color have few options for make up and little to no representation in cosmetic ad campaigns. This is such a wonderful ad and Lupita looks gorgeous…as usual. Photo from here.
P.S. Did you see her new Vogue cover and spread? They came out while I was on vacation and they look amazzzzzing! Check them out here!
Kat Dennings is wearing the heck out of oxblood for the Emmy 2012 Awards. If you didn’t know, oxblood
that color with the nasty sounding name has been everywhere as one of the top colors for the fall, and I honestly concur! This color looks great on every shade. Every shade. Some choose a deep, dark almost wine colored tint. Others choose a shade with a slightly lighter tint. Kat’s is the lighter more everyday friendly tint. The Lancôme ‘Rouge in Love Tonight is My Night’ Lipstick collection from Nordstrom has two shades that I think would be great to try out. Even though the Lancôme lipstick costs $25, it is super smooth and lasts a long time. I love the Rouge in Love lipstick. Try the shades Rogue Saint Honore and Rogue Valentine. According to the Daily Mail, the Advertising Standards Authority in England has banned certain beauty ads in the country for being too airbrushed. This isn’t the first time England has done this either. They claim that the ads are misleading and MP Jo Swinson says they create a false impression of beauty. Swinson and Lynne Featherstone, the equalities minister, have set up a Campaign for Body Confidence.
Check out this behind the scenes footage of Emma Watson at the shoot for Lancome’s new fragrance Midnight Rose. I can’t want to smell this one.
