This week’s currently craving item are plus size crop tops! Crop tops are a trend that all plus size women should at least try. I am thinking of purchasing one myself just to see how I feel in it before I purchase more than one. With the rise of plus size designers, there are a lot of options for us, however, they sell out of the items fast! Below, I will list a few designers as well as retailers that carry crop tops for us plus size women.
Before purchasing, please keep in mind:
– If you aren’t comfortable showing your stomach, you can always layer it with a[n] [open] cardigan, blazer/jacket; so that only a bit of skin is showing.
4. Briana Cap Sleeved Crop Top – Barely There – $60.00; Rue 107
There are many other sites that have crop tops, some aren’t available as of right now, but if you come across some that are, please comment the website/store name below! We want to know where you are buying your plus size crop tops this season! Photos from the retailers mentioned above.
If being a plus-size woman isn’t hard enough, when it comes to choosing a bathing suit for those spring break vacations or vacations in general, it’s harder. I think it’s safe to say that our choices of bathing suits are restricted. Either we find one that fits completely or it’s too loose around certain areas.
I am literally drooling over the Monif C Wear to Work Collection. This one of the best plus size businesswear collections I have seen in a long time. The set of dresses are sexy and sophisticated and come in mostly neutral colors with a few bright colors here and there. Monif C really knows how to dress the plus size woman. This is the kind of collection I would love to see more plus size and straight size designers creating for women past a size 10-12. The clean lines and expert darting really show off and flatter the figure. The Monif C Wear to Work Collection is all glamour and I am totally here for it! Which dress is your favorite?
Monif Cdresses. Plus size women always obsess over them. The Eva Cold Shoulder Double Slit Dress With Detachable Belt is no exception. I live for this dress because it looks amazing! Any plus size woman would look absolutely sexy and to die for in this dress. I love the mock neck turtleneck collar, and the cut outs on the shoulders. The cut outs reveal just the right amount of skin on the top of the dress.
Then you work your way down to the detachable belt. I love the fact that the belt is detachable because it gives you options. Although I am not really all that sure that you would want to take the belt off of the Eva Dress since it looks so great as an accent piece. Then you get down to the double leg slits. As they say, “You show a little leg. Then you take it away.” Well this is more than a little leg. It is more like a KAPOW! The Eva dress by Monif C goes from a size 14-16 to a 22-24 and is on sale for $238. It also comes in your choice of black or white. Make sure you pre-order it now because it ships May 22nd!
I know it is still snowing up a storm in some parts of the US, but it is time to start thinking about spring break, beaches, and just warmer weather in general. Monif C always has the best plus size swimsuits and fatkinis! Now is the time to check out her swimsuits and get your body outfitted for the pool because fatkini/monokini/anykini season is right around the corner! The Malibu Surfer Plus Size Swimsuit is pretty hot. I love the African print, and the scuba/surfing look. I also love the the zipper in the front which allows you to zip up or let it all out! Have you been swimsuit shopping yet?
During the middle of New York Fashion Week, I went to Rose Hall at Lincoln Center where the wonderful people at Onestopplus.com got together to create a plus size fashion show at New York Fashion Week. That is something that many thought would never happen, but it did. Gabby Sidibe, Nikki Blonsky, Caroline Manzo, celebrity stylist and author Phillip Bloch, Marie Claire columnist Ashley Falcon, and designer Monif C were in attendance. Fashion bloggers Gabi from Young, Fat and Fabulous, Tiffany from The Fat Shopaholic, and Christina from The Musings of a Fatshionista were also there. Models Lizzie Miller, Toccara Jones and Ashley Graham walked in the show, while Emme, Whitney Thompson, and Fluvia Lacerda watched from their seats in the audience.
The clothes were stunning. Everyone there was pleasantly surprised by how trendy, beautiful, and flattering the clothes were. The collection was divided into four parts called Artisan Drape, Acquatica Lace, Ethereal Denim, Cargo Femme, and Guilded Shine. The Belle Epoque collection featured soft pastel and sherbet colors for spring. Light, airy fabrics were shaped into not so short shorts, practical tanks, flowing maxi dresses, breezy tops, beautiful embellished blouses, and carrot pants.
The designers really thought about this collection. They didn’t design with the muu-muu in mind. They designed for the plus size woman who is ready for a life of style. Everyone was left wondering when and if these too good to be true clothes would go on the One Stop Plus website. I, for one, hope that not only do these clothes go online, but I hope that they stage another fashion show next season and make this a permanent thing.
There should be no reason for people to say they don’t know what to wear this coming Fall. From Urban Outfitters to Gareth Pugh to Anna Scholz fall fashion is out of control, or OOC as Rachel Zoe says. Now Monif C has launched her Pre-Fall collection. Who said fall had to be cold? These clothes will surely bring the heat. Plus the campaign features Fluvia wearing short blond hair.
