Naomi Campbell slays at 44 years of age! She is a true supermodel…okokokokok!!!!! She looks amazing. Her body is insane. I can only hope and pray that my body looks somewhat like that when I get to be her age. Also doesn’t the shoot with Jourdan Dunn look super cute and fun. I love that these two brands chose black models to pose for and represent them. Here’s to hoping more brands follow suit soon!
Happy belated birthday Naomi Campbell. She is one of my favorite models because she is beautiful, knows how to werk it, and constantly fights for more diversity in fashion! Photo from here.
This week’s Bad Bish is none other than Naomi Campbell and her MOTHER Valerie walking down the runway at the Thierry Mugler Spring/Summer 1994 fashion show. Now we know where her beauty comes from. Gif from Tumblr.
I found this picture of Naomi Campbell and Kate Moss for the December 2012 issue of Interview Russia on Modelinia’s Tumblr page. I have seen other shots of the editorial featuring the two supermodels on other websites as well. If you want to see more, I would buy this particular issue of Interview Russia. Naomi and Kate look awesome. They seem to be aging very well. Don’t you think?
If you are like me, you probably geeked all the way out when you saw the Spice Girls and the British Supermodels, Kate Moss, Naomi Campbell, Georgia May Jagger, Jourdan Dunn, Lily Cole, Stella Tennant, Lily Donaldson, Karen Elson, and David Gandy, hit the stage. I screamed so loud, you could probably hear me outside of the house. I sang and danced while the Spice Girls sang, and nearly fell out when the supermodels walked on the stage. I had a blast for all of the 2.5 seconds each group was on stage. Photos from Elle.
You know how much I love the original supermodels, and who better to bring them back with song than Duran Duran? Well Naomi Campbell, Eva Herzigova, Cindy Crawford, Helena Christensen, and Yasmin Le Bon are back in this great nine minute epic of a music video shot at the Savoy Hotel in London. Also check out the cameos of the band (who are playing other people), Dolce and Gabbana, and the Harper’s Bazaar UK cover shoot.
The 2011 Met Ball honoring British designer Alexander McQueen was held last night. Today we are going to go over the fashions. You know the drill… who was hot and who most certainly was not. Who did you love, hate, or feel very meh about? Photos from The Cut.

Like me, Anna Sui has known she wanted to work in fashion since she was a tiny tot. My love of fashion came at the age of three, hers at four. Anna Sui moved to New York City from Detroit, Michigan to attend Parsons School of Design. While in New York, Sui hung out with Steven Meisel and models like Naomi Campbell and Linda Evangelista. They encouraged her to produce a fashion show after years of working out of her studio, and her brand exploded from there.

We all know Mischa’s body-weight fluctuations. She literally goes through thick and thin, but she’s back on track with new shoots. After her timeout from business, she landed a job for Philipp Plein.
The German designer began his fashion career in 2004. With his street-fashion collection he set the stage for his first store in the high-end club P1 in Munich. With his Heavy Metal Collection in 2008, he outfitted Heidi Klum’s Germany’s Next Top Models in Barcelona &contracted; Naomi Campbell & Marcus Schenkenberg for a “Vogue” campaign.
For the most of us, his clothing is probably prohibitive. But this amazing collection & Mischa Barton are really worth a look.

Umm sooo what is going on with Naomi Campbell? First she beat up her driver yesterday, and ran away. Now we find out that she was beating him up because he wouldn’t tell her if her boyfriend, who is still married, was cheating on her a year ago. Klawdamercy! Oh Naomi!
Last week I did a post called What Is Your Favorite Super Memory? I want to thank all of the readers who commented on that post. I think it is great to look back at a time when fashion was fun, even fanciful. Fashion today is kind of dark and business like. It is basically more about the bottom line instead of art, but I think the girls of Rodarte, Alexander Wang, and others are changing things again. Models are becoming popular again too. Hopefully they don’t overshadow the designers like last time and bring us back into the dark ages. BLAH!
Enough of my rant. What I wanted to say was… thanks Ondo Lady, from The Musings of Ondo Lady, for spurring my memory with this comment:
How could I forget? Well I found a video clip of that exact moment. The video is about 9 mins of awesome fashion moments. Watch all of it to see how the models used to walk a show, or skip all the way to the 6:09 mark and behold the day that most people say the Super was born.
I recently did a guest blogging post for the Demoiselles on body image. The post is scheduled to go up today. Please check it out. I wrote from the heart, and I think their body image series is a great read for everyone.
Can you remember the first time you heard about/or saw the Supers? Do you remember all of their names? Who was your favorite and why? Do you mourn the loss of the supermodel, or do you think the newest batch of models are supermodels? If so, who? Is Giselle a supermodel? I would love to see your comments.
You all know I love the Supers something fierce, so imagine my surprise when I saw that Vogue had opened up their archives to release some photos of the Supers. These shot are beyond amazing, and most of them are very iconic and recognizable. Take a quick peek at these photographic gems.
And don’t forget to check out the shoot with Eva, Naomi, and Claudia in the August 2009 issue of Vogue Korea. Hot!
Please vote for my nomination at the Black Weblog Awards. You have until July 25th!
