The 2011 Met Ball honoring British designer Alexander McQueen was held last night. Today we are going to go over the fashions. You know the drill… who was hot and who most certainly was not. Who did you love, hate, or feel very meh about? Photos from The Cut.
The Best from l to r:
Like me, Anna Sui has known she wanted to work in fashion since she was a tiny tot. My love of fashion came at the age of three, hers at four. Anna Sui moved to New York City from Detroit, Michigan to attend Parsons School of Design. While in New York, Sui hung out with Steven Meisel and models like Naomi Campbell and Linda Evangelista. They encouraged her to produce a fashion show after years of working out of her studio, and her brand exploded from there.
Can you remember the first time you heard about/or saw the Supers? Do you remember all of their names? Who was your favorite and why? Do you mourn the loss of the supermodel, or do you think the newest batch of models are supermodels? If so, who? Is Giselle a supermodel? I would love to see your comments.
You all know I love the Supers something fierce, so imagine my surprise when I saw that Vogue had opened up their archives to release some photos of the Supers. These shot are beyond amazing, and most of them are very iconic and recognizable. Take a quick peek at these photographic gems.
And don’t forget to check out the shoot with Eva, Naomi, and Claudia in the August 2009 issue of Vogue Korea. Hot!
Please vote for my nomination at the Black Weblog Awards. You have until July 25th!
