Yuna Yang’s fall winter 2012 collection was inspired by Virginia Woolfe’s essay A Room of One’s Own and showed what looked like sophisticated, yet daring clothes. The clothes were a mix of blues, greys, whites, purples, and prints that reminded me of the changes that fall can bring. Beading, asymmetrical ruffles, and prints proved that this wasn’t an ordinary collection. The collection seemed to be a blend between the past and the future, simple and elegant.
A few days ago. I went to the Duckie Brown menswear show. I love going to menswear shows. It is so interesting to see how the other half lives. The collection, designed by Steven Cox and Daniel Silver, was a real treat to see. I loved the collection. It was amazing. The asymmetrical layered shirts will be a cool look for men and women to try. The black and grey color palette mixed with reds and oranges will be perfect for brightening up the fall. I think my favorite part besides the baggy plaid pants were the chunky, oversized fair isle sweaters and the double breasted coats. This was a solid collection from the design duo.
