Hey everyone. I just want to introduce Ariel. She is another one of my awesome interns who will be writing about the latest trends. Ariel really has an eye for what is hot, so give a her a big welcome. Also check out her blog Twenty Two Couture.
I know lots of women are really intimidated of wearing sheer. The see-through fabric makes the most of us self-conscious about our physical attributes because of its ability to expose our most sacred body parts. Sheer is the perfect fabric for this time of year because its so free flowing. What makes it even better is that now more designers are taking action against the average female’s intimidation of sheer and are creating more appropriate ways to combine the sheer with casual wear.
Recently Beyonce wore a Valentino Couture sheer top while out to dinner in NYC and like many others I was in awe. Her top was almost completely sheer with a nude undertone but had embellishments so she wouldn’t be completely naked. She looked so sleek yet edgy and for the first time ever barely there clothing didn’t look so trashy.
Olivia Wilde and Katy Perry also both rocked this look on red carpets, Olivia looked sophisticated in her almost full-frontal sheer Marchesa gown. This trend is slowly gaining its edge on the market and for the woman who likes to be daring and add an edge to her normal skinnys jeans and tank, go for this look. You’ll be sure to turn heads.
