Missguided is another retailer bringing the 90s back with slip dresses. I haven’t seen these types of dresses in a long time. I remember when cami dresses, slip dresses or camisoles-depending on who is talking about them- worn over white tees were all the rage. Camisole dresses were really easy to wear because all you had to do, depending on the season, is wear them by themselves or with a tee or turtleneck. If it was slightly chilly, you could wear a long cardigan or duster coat with one. The beauty in these dresses is that when you can dress them up or down depending on how fancy they look. Some can even be one to a formal event, and you can wear them with a lot of different types of shoes depending on the mood. Slip dresses look great with Converse, boots, and heels.
While both of my states in the Carolinas are recovering from Hurricane Matthew, I thought I would share some good news with you. I am so happy to finally be able to introduce one of the first items in my clothing line. It is called the Unisex Seether Oversized Crop Top. All of the pieces in my collection are named after my favorite 90s rock songs that were either made or sung by women. This item will be available soon. I can’t wait to share it with you all. You may have seen it on my Instagram where it was worn by my friend Alexis from Alexis Style. She is always down to support. Thank you so much.
The ASOS Curve sale is going on right now and I’m here to bring you a few of my favorite items. These clothes will probably sell out fast because everyone loves a sale, especially one thrown by ASOS. Now is the best time to some of those trendy pieces you were looking at, but your funds were too low to buy.
Have you ever thought about certain denim street style looks that you think should be made into plus sizes? Well I’m back with another post where I show y’all street style looks that I would love to see/make for plus sizes. The first post in the street style series is here. Sidenote: If you are someone who wants your clothes to be flattering, this isn’t the post for you. I am from the f*^k flattering school of thought. If I like it, then I will wear it. 🙂 OK. Moving on. These are the looks I really love. I can’t wait for plus size designers and plus size women to start taking more style risks.
Plus size retailer Eloquii hits the style spot with their newest collection called The Sweet Spot. It looks like something out of a Wes Anderson movie, and I am in love. This has to be my favorite Eloquii collection yet. It probably has something to do with my love of Wes Anderson movies. I think the other reason I like this collection so much is because it isn’t something that other plus size clothing companies are making, and it fits in more with my own personal style.
Thanksgiving is coming up soon…as in next week. NEXT WEEK?!?!? Yea. This year is really speeding by fast. Real fast. Anywho. Do you know what you know what to wear to Thanksgiving dinner? I wanted to bring you a post that will give you all the Thanksgiving outfit inspiration. Depending on whether your family dinner is casual or dressy, you should find something here that you like. The casual outfit if trendy with an army green moto jacket, ripped jeans, a velvet top, and some chic white sneakers. This outfit follows the latest trends and is super chic without being too cool.
I recently graduated from fashion design school, and am starting to cultivate what I want my line to be like. In the mean time, I still see items that I would like to see made in plus sizes regardless of whether I make them or not. Creating a plus size line is hard. Trying to develop a decent size chart and patterns to match is stressful, and trying to fight people’s stereotypes and misconceptions about themselves and how they should dress and/or how plus size women should dress in general is even more stressful. I get why developing a plus size line is hard, but come on…some of us want cute styles too.
If you have been reading this blog for a few years, then I am sure you know that the fall and winter are my favorite seasons. I love wearing sweaters and wrapping my neck in scarves. I love getting my glove and hat sets together. These are the things that make me smile. Last week we saw Gabifresh model the clothes in ASOS Curve’s fall lookbook. She looked so great! Sooo good!
This weekend I drove to Atlanta to attend The Curvy Fashionista Style Expo. I don’t know if you follow me on Snapchat @tfasblog, but all of my Atlanta adventures were documented on the app. I had a really good time at Marie’s Denee’s event even though my day got off to a very rocky start.
The new arrivals at Eloquii are really giving me life right now. I love fall fashion. I feel like the colder months are when I dress the best. This collection from Eloquii is sooo good. The tribal prints! The plum color that is perfect for fall! The faux suede and fringe!!!! I am living! I am starting to see a few fall items enter in stores now, and it is getting me very excited. I can’t believe it is back to school time already. I have a back to school contest on Instagram right now. Enter to win a planner and a pack of pencils.

FTC: I received this dress courtesy of Forever 21. This is an honest review.
Hey everyone! I received a very pretty, very cool dress from Forever 21. I am saying cool because it is the kind of dress that you can beat the heat in. I don’t think this dress is still on sale on the website, but they have some other equally as cute short, belted dresses in their plus size section. I am wearing a 3x. I normally wear an 18/20 or 3x. I can say that is does fit me very well, and it has an elastic waist. I think this dress was under $30.
Here are a few more options:
Thanks Harper + Liv for the awesome Items! Harper + Liv is that new plus size line that TFAS wrote about a few weeks ago. They sent me some items to wear, and I love my pants and duster. I was going to do one of my plus size fashion films, but the heat was like sike!. I had everything planned to go to this parking garage and do something cute, but it is toooo hot. Today it was 103 but supposedly it feels like 106. I can’t. Anyway. I enjoyed my clothes. I think I might size up on the pants next time so they can be a little more baggy. They fit well, but I like baggier clothes.
Hi! This week’s currently craving is a brand; Harper & Liv. Harper & Liv, a millennial plus-size clothing brand created for stylish plus-size women who has no problem embracing her curves in quality clothing, and who has a flirtatious and fun sense of style.
All items will range in price from $39.00 to $129.00. The summer collection will be available in department stores like Dillard’s – in store as well as online, in May. Included in this line will be detailed suede, faux leather and faux fur high fashion pieces. By the fall season Harper & Liv plan to have the brand in Lord & Taylor as well as Macy’s. Harper & Liv Take a look at a few of our favorite pieces below!
I am currently craving bell bottom jeans. I am actually craving high-waisted bell bottom jeans, but any bell bottom jean will do. This is a 70s pants trend that I really love, along with last week’s culottes. They look rather good with some platform wedges or heels or a little Birkenstock sandal. I have found some in most stores right now. The trend is that strong. If the widest bell bottom isn’t your style, start small with a bootcut jean instead. Have you started shopping for bell bottom jeans yet or are you just not into them? Photo from Simply Be.
Culottes are the hot new trend in fashion right now, but they actually aren’t that new. They were popular in the 70s. Yup! That’s right! Another 70s fashion trend is making a way back into stores and into our closets. I love culottes. They are very comfortable, and plus sized gals can wear them too!
It is spring time and white jeans are kinda having a moment. I rarely wear white clothes. This is super TMI, but I always feel like my period is going to come on just because I wore white and spoil my fashion moment. Like for why and for what? UGH!!! Anyway. I love white jeans. I have a pair that I love, but never wear because of my own personal paranoia.
FTC: This #TBT Style Icon With Boohoo.com post was done in conjunction with Boohoo.com. They also supplied the clothes.
Hey everyone. Can you guess what my #TBT Style Icon with boohoo.com is? Hint, hint. The name is in the title of this post. British retailer Boohoo.com told me to pick out some clothes and base them on one of my style icons for a #tbt or Throwback Thursday post. One of my favorite movies from the 90s is The Craft. I love the story of four teenage witches pick to live in a house with seven strangers….sorry. Sorry. Wrong show.
FTC: I was given this Lumia phone to try for a trial period of three weeks and a $200 gift card. This is an honest review.
Microsoft Lumia gave me one Lumia phone and $200 to spend on clothes for this style challenge. Luckily for me, a lot of the stores were having exceptional Veteran’s Day sales. SCORE!!
FTC: Boohoo.com sent me the jacket. I paid for the rest of the outfit myself. This is an honest review.
I just wanted to bring you this fall plus size fashion video with pieces from Boohoo and DSW. This is kind of a Halloween inspired video with the orange and black colors. This outfit was really fun to wear.
