Partnered Post: British E-tailer House of Fraser Has A Dress Selection For Everyone

House of Fraser Petite Dress Collection

House of Fraser recently approached me to check out their website to see what they had to offer. While I had heard of the website before, I was thoroughly impressed with their dress collection. The problem I have with American retailers is the fact that they don’t really offer much for other sizes, and when they do it is often very dull and boring. British retailers, on the other hand, always have cute and stylish options for the plus and petite woman. I guess you can call them the 2Ps.

TFAS Reviews: Nation LTD. Now Makes Soft Trendy Separates For Plus Sizes

Nation LTD Plus Sizes

The wonderful people at Nation LTD. sent me two items to review. I am not going to lie. When they contacted me, I was super excited. I love hearing about straight size brands taking the plunge to actually design a decent plus size line. This line is more than decent though. The basics are really cute and comfy. They remind of trendy yoga wear that you can wear outside without looking weird.

Quality Plus Size Apparel from Saks Fifth Avenue’s Salon Z

Saks Fifth Avenue Salon Z T-Bags

Jump for joy because Saks Fifth Avenue’s Salon Z has quality plus size apparel. Woohoo! As a plus size shoppers, we often complain about the lack of cute plus size apparel that is made of high quality materials. Some plus size shoppers are tired of paying for cheaply made, cheaply priced apparel that does not last that long, and when we do find good quality plus size apparel…it is made for the older set.

I Also Really Need This Hips & Curves Teddy In My Life

Hips and Curves Lingerie

I really need this Hips & Curves Teddy in my life because Hips & Curves has some of the best plus size lingerie on the planet! I love vintage clothes and undergarments, so I really need to get this vintage looking teddy STAT! It comes in 4 colors: Black and Pink, Fawn, Garnet, and Wine. While I love vintage lingerie, I was never really was a lingerie fan, at least for myself that is. I always love the looks on others, like Dita Von Teese, but I am totally into these teddies. What is going on with me? The price of the teddies is $42.95, so you aren’t really breaking the bank for some great plus size lingerie.

Reminiscent of the 20’s, this vintage style teddy has a beautiful V front with 2 rows of lace at the top and matching lace detail around the leg.  This charmeuse teddy is available in sizes 1x – 4x with a tie back and snap crotch for a good fit.  The beautiful quality of this garment makes it an excellent value and something you will treasure time and again.

Cheap and Chic for All Sizes

This sweater from Alloy is cheap and chic for all sizes. It is a cute off the shoulder sweater that comes in three classic colors, and is perfect for fall or winter. Sizes range from XS to XXXL. XS-XL costs $36.90 and XXL- XXXL costs $38.90. I love Alloy, but I hate that the bigger the size, the more the sweater costs. Walmart and other stores do that too.

Anyway, this is the kind of sweater I would wear to a family holiday dinner. Thanksgiving is coming up for all of my American readers, so now would be the perfect time to stock up on this sweater. Alloy is also having a sweater sale right now,so this really is the perfect time to stock up on sweater before its too late.

I Finally Did It…

People have been begging me to do an OOTD or outfit of the day post, especially since I bought these two new dresses. I am usually too busy to do a post like this, or I just don’t feel like it. I also don’t think I am that great a model, so why bother? The floral dress comes from Evans UK and the zippered sweats looking dress comes from Topshop. They were both birthday presents I bought for myself. My bday is tomorrow, and there will be a post for that too. Also, I am just now learning how to use Gimp properly. If anybody knows how to make my pictures look less blurry, please tell me.

UPDATE: I have been getting comments and emails about my size and Topshop. I wear a US size 18 or a UK size 20/22. Topshop only goes up to a US 12 or a UK 16. I can only buy Topshop garments if the clothes have a lot of stretch to them. I hope that helps people out since a lot of you want to shop at Topshop. Also I find that I can do the same at H&M.; DON’T the size on the tag scare you. If it stretches, it will probably fit you.

Remember The Time…

I told you guys about the V magazine issue with plus size models in this post. Well…. we have a little sneak peak here.

They show two models of different builds but similiar looks. In this case you have Jacquelyn Jablonski: 5 ft, 9 in; 32/24/34 and Crystal Renn: 5 ft, 9 in; 36/31/41. They put them in the same clothes with the same styling and hair. Then they told them to do similar poses for photographer Terry Richardson. At first I wasn’t to keen on the idea of doing a skinny vs. not so skinny shoot, but I must say Crystal Renn fills the clothes out nicely. I really would like to see more of that on the runway. Not to say that skinny models should be banned all together now. I realize that people come in all shapes and sizes, therefore there should be a mix of sizes in stores and on the runway.

Evans Christmas Collection 2009

I woke up this morning with a lovely email from Evans. I love Evans. They are one of the best plus size clothing retailers out there, but I haven’t bought anything from them yet. I might be buying something soon, especially since the British-based clothing company isn’t affected by the postal strike.Their new Chirstmas collection is hot, hot, hot! I really love it. Usually I just like a few pieces, but I like the majority of the pieces offered.

This red dress is so hot and sexy. I could see myself wearing this to a party or a night out. I love how they paired it with black tights, but I would probably wear them with my green tights for Christmas dinner and the black tights when I go out with my friends. I also love the other going out look. That whole look would go great with my black motorcycle jacket. I would wear that for more of an everyday look that I would turn into night. Those pants are cute too. It is a very rare thing to find plus size pants that have a skinny ankle. I hate buying skinny pants in plus size and the bottom looks like a bootcut jean. If I wanted bootcut, I would get bootcut.

I totally want at least two pairs of these jeans. Like I was stating above, the ankle on these jeans actually looks like how a skinny jean ankle should look. I think I would get the denim jeggings and the bootcut jeans. They are 2 for 30 pounds which is about 50 American dollars. So that is like buying two pairs of Old Navy jeans or one pair of some Gap jeans. Sorry I am trying to rationalize my spending. SMH!
WOW! WOW! WOW! Let’s talk about how these outfits are totally on trend and super cute. There are no muu-muus or wrap dresses here. I love the plaid shirt. Usually I get my plaid from the Goodwill store for $1 no holla, but I think that Evans’ plaid shirt is doing the most for me. Loves it. And who doesn’t love the floral tunics. So gorg! What do I need to sell on ebay so I can get some extra moolah?
Just when I thought it couldn’t get any better, they come out with the cutest little coats I have ever seen. It is rare that I find cute winter coats. It doesn’t get too cold here in South Carolina that often, but when it does I want to wear something cute too. Usually I just wear my big coat, or some coat that wa made in plus size but doesn’t really fit the plus sized body. URGH! I really shouldn’t have opened my mailbox today. I want the pink coat and the plaid coat. FML!

I would take a picture of me in this dress, but I just started school yesterday, and I am leaving for the beach today. Jen from Jen’s Fashion Plus sent me this cute dress that I want to wear with my yellow tights from We Love Colors. The feel of the fabric is nice too. I like when fabric doesn’t itch. I also like the fact that it comes with a belt, so I don’t have to fish around in my belt drawer. LAZY! I really like the fact that it isn’t too short. I can wear the dress to church and not feel the old church lady’s eyes on my back. LOL! Thanks Jen!

Hey everyone! I am so excited to bring to The Fat and Skinny something new. I MADE A VIDEO! Ok so this is the first video, and I was pretty nervous. I need media training ASAP! bwhahahahahah! I am just testing the waters here, so bear with me. Thanks dad for being an awesome camera guy!

I would like to thank Jen from Jen’s Fashion Plus for giving me these pretty blouses. I need more work clothes, so this was great! I am wearing the black and white kimono shirt, and my lovely mother is wearing the black and white leopard print belted blouse. We really love these blouses because you can wear them for a night out with the girls, to church, to work, etc. Plus they are really cute. I can’t wait to wear my shirt to work, and mom really loves ruffles so you know she is extra excited. LOL!

Style Scout

My internship, Stylehop.com, has a blog called Style Scout. It is so awesome! They used my infamous Forever 21 quote in this very interesting article called, Fashion Promoting Obesity?

Don’t forget to check out the small debate in the comment section. You all should comment too. This is a real interesting topic. I know everyone is entitled to their opinion, but I totally think I should have cute plus size clothes regardless if you think I am fat by choice or not.
