Penningtons Plus, a Canadian company that ships to the United States, has just released their holiday lookbook. In the lookbook, you will find cute jewelry and basics, nice separates and coats, and pretty lingerie and elegant eveningwear that is perfect for those upcoming holiday parties. My favorite item in the lookbook is the Iridescent Quilted Downfill Jacket. It looks very warm and cozy, which makes it perfect for me. Plus the shiny silver color looks great.
I have been featured on Make Me Over Eb and The Curvy Fashionista.
A few weeks ago I was offered a chance to review some Ugg-like boots by a company called Whooga. Whooga is an Australian company that uses Australian Merino fleece. The boots are made and shipped from China. They did give me a free pair of boots, but as you all know, that doesn’t affect my review.
I love my boots. Unlike my other UGG Australia boots that I own, I don’t have to go up a size because the Whooga boots fit tight on my feet and are true to size. The Merino fleece is so soft and warm. Just like Uggs, these boots keep your feet warm even when the temperature hits 30 below. The shoes look just like my Ugg boots, except they have a Whooga tag on the back.
The only problem I had with them was the fact that the box had been a little bent up from shipping. When I opened my box, the shoes were a little rumpled. Whooga sent the shoes with stuffing and cardboard in them, so that helped a lot. Once I took the boots out of the box and let them stand on their own, they fluffed out. Now they look great.
Whooga boots come in all different sizes, heights, textures, and colors for kids and adults.
Would I recommend this company as an Ugg alternative…Yes!
The good people at Maurices.com were kind enough to give me a gift card. I used it to get some accessories to review. I hope you love the video. I decided to showcase accessories since I am always reviewing clothes.
While perusing their site yesterday, I found out that they are having a Summer Sale. Don’t miss out.
The Fat and Skinny is now mobile. Check it out!
*Sorry if you caught this post yesterday in your rss feed or whatever. I accidentally posted it to early!*
Today is Monday, and I am super busy with life and other things, but I am going to try and make the most of it. Did I mention I am trying to get rid of a cold? Yuck! Anyway the good people at Fashion to Figure gave me a dress to review. The store goes from sizes 12 to 26. I love this store because they have some really cute things at really great prices. I actually think I am going to buy some things from them the next time I go online shopping.
The dress I am wearing is the Button Trim Ponte Dress. It is a short sleeve dress that comes in black or blue and has little studs on the sides of the sleeves. Even though my dress is one size too small, I still love it. I think this dress is awesome for a night out on the town. The fabric is thicker than I expected and really soft too. The zipper detailing in the back was too cute. That is one of the best parts of the dress. All in all…I love it, but wish I had gotten a bigger size.
Also note that the dress was $36, but now it is $19.99!
I was asked to review some jeans from Maurices.com. I had never heard of this company before, so I did some quick research and decided to say yes. Maurices is online, and they have physical stores in different cities around the country. They are a woman’s clothing store that sells plus and straight sizes. Maurices has some really cute items for work and play. So check them out!
The jeans that I tried were the Briana Dark Wash Jeans and they cost $34. The fabric on the jeans were ok. It wasn’t too thin or too thick. They have a little bit of a flare leg and even though they are supposed to be mid-rise, they seem to be low-rise for me. I think that is because I have a little bit o’ booty in the back. I did like the jeans though. They had a nice wash, and my dad thought they looked nice. Thanks dad! I would probably buy some jeans from this store again. I would love to be able to find a store near me, but that won’t be happening anytime soon because the nearest store is an hour or so away. Sorry for the poor quality pictures. I took them with my phone. 🙂
My pictures didn’t move over when I moved my blog.
I would take a picture of me in this dress, but I just started school yesterday, and I am leaving for the beach today. Jen from Jen’s Fashion Plus sent me this cute dress that I want to wear with my yellow tights from We Love Colors. The feel of the fabric is nice too. I like when fabric doesn’t itch. I also like the fact that it comes with a belt, so I don’t have to fish around in my belt drawer. LAZY! I really like the fact that it isn’t too short. I can wear the dress to church and not feel the old church lady’s eyes on my back. LOL! Thanks Jen!

I am bringing back the Hate It or Love It posts. Wow! I haven’t done one of these since February. Can you say slack?! Last week I received two makeup samples from Thevi Cosmetics. For those of you who don’t know, Thevi Cosmetics was started by Thevaki Thambirajah as a colorful makeup line for multi-ethnic skin.
I want to thank Thevi Cosmetics for sending me these samples because they are actually great. I have yet to receive bad samples from companies in the mail *knocks on wood*. They sent the Lush Mascara in Lush Black and the High Impact Lipstick in Godiva.
Let me just say this off the bat. I am not a lipstick wearer, so I was about to give it to Mom instead. Something lit up in the back of my mind, and made me try it anyway. It is so soft and smooth. Very, very easy to apply. It isn’t one of those lipsticks that runs all over your face instead of you lips. The color is really beautiful, but I was scared that it would be a little too dark for me. I usually use Aquaphor or Lip Smackers, but I actually liked this color. I can see it as something I would use at night or during the cold weather months.
The mascara was great too because it was very hard to clump. No matter how many coats I put on, it didn’t clump. I actually counted 4 coats and still no clumpage. The mascara is really light, so my lashes look fresh instead of super intense. The brush is long and thin enough to get all of my lashes, even the littlest ones. Another thing I like is the fact that my mascara hasn’t fallen in my eyes yet. I can’t say the same thing about my fav go to brand. I might have to switch. The mascara cost $12.00 and the lipstick costs $13.00.
Don’t forget to check out Thevi Cosmetics here.
