Rihanna was a natural beauty at the 2015 Grammys. She had a neutral smokey eye and nude lips. That’s it. That’s all. Nothing more than that, and the look suited her. I think this is a look that I would like to see more of on the red carpet and in everyday life. You don’t have to look beat all day every day. I think we forget that sometimes in our quest to have the hottest makeup look.
So you knew this week’s Bad Bish was gonna be Rihanna. I mean… hello! Rihanna channeled Josephine Baker at the CFDA Awards in an Adam Selman gown, and she looked gorgeous. To all the haters saying that she was too naked…back off!! She looked amazing. This is why she got the CFDA Fashion Icon Award. Photo from here. Don’t forget to check out the making of the dress video clip below!
Rihanna goes nude for Lui Magazine and Vogue Brasil. The island gyal is no stranger to nudity, since she is always half naked in her Instagram shots, but even a cease and desist letter from the phone app will stop her from posting the skin pics. She reposted them to Twitter. I see you Rhi Rhi using a work around. Photos from Idolator and Global Grind.
Have you seen the pictures of Rihanna and Lupita Nyong’o at the Miu Miu fashion show in Paris? They looked amazing. I am so glad they got to sit next to each other so we could see their beautiful outfits. Rihanna has been sizzling all over Paris during fashion week. Her outfits or lack there of have been the talk of the town, and Lupita just won an Oscar. I hope we see a lot more from her in the future. Photo from Rihannadiva’s Instagram.
Take a behind the scenes look at Rihanna for River Island. In the video she discusses her influences and why she wanted to work with the brand. I am really interested to see what she comes up with. Her style, for the past two or so years, has been heavily influenced by British street kids. If her line is anything like that, I know it will be good.
The BRITs may have been a night to celebrate the best of the British music scene (complete with award winners cut off mid-speech) but for many, it was the glam dresses worn by the female stars that were the real highlight of the evening.
London-based vocalist Adele, who shot to fame in 2008 following the success of her debut single Chasing Pavements, attended the prestigious event in an elegant black number, complete with sheer sleeves and diamond-studded jewellery.
Rihanna and Victoria Beckham have scored both scored big over the weekend.Let’s start with Rihanna. She is the new face of Emporio Armani Underwear and Armani Jeans. The ‘Man Down’ singer will be replacing actress Megan Fox in the fall.
This should be a great campaign for Rihanna who already has ad campaign experience with Gucci. As per her agreement with Armani, she will be wearing Armani exclusively on the red carpet. This will be interesting to see because Rihanna always brings her own flair when it comes to red carpet dressing. I wonder if Armani will whip up something in her style like they did for Lady Gaga? As if it hasn’t been covered enough, here is Rihanna’s Rolling Stone cover.
Look what came out over the interwebz while I was in the mountains this weekend…Rihanna’s rumored Vogue cover. She tweeted about it a little prematurely a few months ago, and now we can finally see the real thing. She looks great on the cover. A lot of people think she looks like Ariel from The Little Mermaid and I concur. What do you think? Photo from Fashion Bomb Daily.
Also to all of my Japanese readers, my heart is with you right now. I have a friend over there who is running low on food, and is without water and electricity. She also lives near one of the nuclear reactors. If you live in Japan, have some kind of tie to Japan, or are just a kind human being, please try and help in any way that you can. I gave to the Red Cross. They are usually pretty good at helping in these situations.
Rihanna’s Stylist Suggests Christina Aguilera’s Look Is More Rihanna Than Lady Gaga
OK I wasn’t going to blog about this, but I really have no choice. I want to know your thoughts on Rihanna’s new hairdo. We all know she likes to change it up like nobody’s business, but do you think she is just running out of ideas? Do you think she has gone too far? I actually like the red color in her hair, but I am not a fan of her hair cut. Some people have called her a rooster, Woody Woodpecker, or Sonic the Hedgehog’s little sister. What do you think? I wanna know.

Monique Lhuillier gave me a little Art Deco/ Golden Age of Hollywood feel when I looked at her clothes. They were beautiful. I can definitely see them on the red carpet at some function, but the styling of the accessories threw me off. The shoes were great but the fedora just seemed completely out of place.
Vena Cava was a great collection for that edgy Rihanna type girl. You could definitely see a lot of influences mixed up in the collection. I saw 80s bodcon shapes mixed with 20s resort wear. I also saw dark and colorful touches mixed with graphic patterns, African tribal color schemes and safety pin camisoles.
Is Prabal Gurung fashion’s next superstar? Some say so and I can see why. The fabrics and draping were amazing. The pictures made me wish I was there so I could touch the clothes. The oversized bow was a common accent on his pieces, too. I think a lot of his pieces could be swapped between Ms. Uptown and her little sister Miss Downtown. The question is, who is willing to share?
Gwen Stefani is my girl. I have been in love with No Doubt since their first cd, which I may or may not have had on cassette. SMH! Anyway! L.A.M.B. aka Love Angel Music Baby is always a fantastic and surprising collection to me because you know it is going to be very Gwen-like, and you never know what she is in to at the time. I can’t keep up with her looks. Is she a 40s pin-up blond or a Japanese Barbie doll. Who knows or cares as long as the clothes look good, right? I loved the fact that she used a lot of ethnic models, and I totally want those gray harem pants with the pockets on the side. Another thing I loved was the fact that this was the first collection I saw that looked distinctly Spring-like.

Rhianna. The hair, boots, accessories, and the tailoring on the coat. Need I say more?
