I’ll be the first to admit, the magnitude of prints that arrived on the Spring 2011 runways this past winter was a bit of a sensory overload. But, now that the weather is (slowly) becoming more like summer weather, the idea of bright, bold prints seems less overwhelming. The key to prints: if you’re uneasy about wearing more than one print at a time (mixing different prints is not longer a fashion faux pas, in case you were wondering), then stick with one piece with an interesting or bright pattern while keeping the rest of the pieces neutral. If, on the other hand, you’ve been waiting patiently over the past few years for fashion to take a turn from bleak minimalism, then now’s your time lady! Pack on the prints and make the streets your catwalk.
