I just got my Walmart Beauty Box in the mail. As always, the boxes are “free”, but you do have to pay $5 for each box. That adds up to $20 a year since you get a box four times a year with each new season. This box was a little more exciting than my last one. There are better items in the box this time. I think I am going to actually use most of them. Yay!! You can find out more about the Walmart Beauty Box here.
Over the weekend, I did something I never thought I would ever do. I have always dreamed of shooting a fashion film, but I never had the opportunity to do so. One of my friends asked me to shoot her styling videos for her. She is going by Lexis-Style, so be sure to check her out. I love the outfits she wears to school everyday. She really lets her personality shine through her outfits. Follow her here. I have to thank her for this experience because it was fun and challenging. Moving from location to location. Shooting guerrilla style in the streets. I loved it! I can’t wait to do it again. Photo from here. View the short and long versions below. Continue Reading

Check below for the supplies!
I am so loving this DIY tutorial on how to make a custom lip palette and custom lip color from AprilAthena7. I really want to try this. I don’t have an old palette case, but I did find some lip gloss containers at Coastal Scents. They always seem to have make up supplies. This is a great way to recycle old lipsticks that you just can’t throw away. I know I hate to lose the last little bit of my favorite lip color.
I have always wondered about the Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse Foundation because I had heard some great things about this product for African-American skin. Here is a great review from Rose Anne Tang on how to apply the Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse Foundation , how to make it look smooth and less cakey, and the pros/cons of the product. I hope you found this tutorial as helpful as I did. I may be trying this out soon.
Gwen Stefani is L’Oreal’s new spokeswoman. She stars in a new commercial that was just released this week for the 10 Hour Infallible Le Rouge Lipstick, which I saw in Walmart and seriously want to try but couldn’t because they were all sold out. I think the commercial is a little cheesy for her in some parts, but really fun. You can’t go wrong with “Hollaback Girl”. Do you like the commercial? Do you think Gwen has what it takes to be a L’Oreal girl?
As women we shave, wax, or epilate our armpits all the time, and that causes underarm darkness. This YouTube tutorial helps you get rid of it. I know a lot of women suffer from dark armpits, especially African Americans and those with darker skin tones. Continue Reading
