I was speaking to my sorority sister Quinn of VivalaQBee03 about how most of our friends have moved away after college, and how we can’t wait to move to the bright lights of the Big Apple. The conversation came about when we were trying to plan a little get together and came to the conclusion that this town is lacking and slacking in the best friend department.
It is okay though. We know that our friends are off doing great things. It just gets lonely sometimes. My best friend Karma is in Chicago braving the cold for a PH.D. I am so proud of her because she is studying the things that she has always been interested in. My other friend Ruhamah, who is a mutual friend of Quinn’s, is an hour away in Charlotte. Now we really can’t complain about this one because she is closer than most and there are tons of great shopping and eats in the Queen City, but we still wish she were closer.
As a matter of fact, this brings me to my next point. I am going to visit Ruhamah this weekend. We are going shopping, and I already know we are going to eat at our beloved Cheesecake Factory. I can’t to see her because I am bringing a present for her new big girl apartment. Ruhamah was just down here a few months ago getting her car fixed, and when she left, I had to get used to her being gone all over again. Even though this trip is going to be brief, I will take a day’s worth of time over not seeing her at all any day. Have you spoken to your friend today, and no I’m not talking about on Facebook? Call up a friend or go for a visit.
Oh and this picture with the monkey and the bird was just too weird not to post! All photos from We Heart It.
I have to finish my final projects. See ya soon!
I don’t know if any of you remember my April “I want to move” post, but I stated that I wanted to move. Surprise! Surprise! Well guess what… I still want to move, but this time I have found my ultimate inspiration. In the last post I showed you all some photos from WeHeartIt.com,which seems to be having a site breakdown at the moment, that were going to be my inspiration for my room. They are GORG, but these new pictures are better.
I found them on the BEAUTIFUL French Style blog Nast. I read this site from time to time, just like I read the others, for inspiration. Well I found it in these pictures. They are of this woman named Marie Jo’s apartment. So amazing! The paint on the walls, the art, the home accents, everything is so wonderful. She has a balcony! HELLO! Some people might be sick of having colors like this in their home, but as they say in “Funny Face”… THINK PINK!

Today I told my dad that I want to move. He has known for a while that I am ready to fly the coop, but I think it didn’t hit him until now. He tells people that he is going build a second part onto the back of the house for me and my husband when we get married. That ain’t happening.
The recession is hurting the job market, but I have started looking for jobs again anyway. I want to move to Charlotte, Atlanta, or New York. I want to get a job in fashion, but I don’t want to move too far a way too soon because I think that might make my parents nervous.
Living in New York City for a summer is one thing, but moving there for an extended stay is another thing. I would love to move there, but I see the doubt in my dad’s eyes. I think he would be sad if I left. Oh well I got to leave sometime. LOL!
I started graduate school already, and I officially graduate from college in May. I need to get cracking. I always feel like time is running out.
These are some of the pictures I am gathering for my first apartment’s inspiration board. I think they are fun, girly, chic, sophisticated, and so me. I hope you enjoy them.
