What Is Your Fondest Super Memory?

vogue supermodels

Can you remember the first time you heard about/or saw the Supers? Do you remember all of their names? Who was your favorite and why? Do you mourn the loss of the supermodel, or do you think the newest batch of models are supermodels? If so, who? Is Giselle a supermodel? I would love to see your comments.

You all know I love the Supers something fierce, so imagine my surprise when I saw that Vogue had opened up their archives to release some photos of the Supers. These shot are beyond amazing, and most of them are very iconic and recognizable. Take a quick peek at these photographic gems.

And don’t forget to check out the shoot with Eva, Naomi, and Claudia in the August 2009 issue of Vogue Korea. Hot!

Please vote for my nomination at the Black Weblog Awards. You have until July 25th!

My favourite memory of the supers comes from the Cover Girl ads of the '90s. I used to look at them and I'd want to own the lipstick they were hawking in every colour, and yearn to be that beautiful, confident, and vivacious. I was maybe 7 or 8??

My favorite memory of the supermodels was at the Versace show when Naomi, Cindy, Linda and Christy came down the runway miming to the George Michael song, Freedom. Now that was a moment and I doubt if we will see anything like that again.

I can't say I have a huge thing for the supers… or any models, that is. But these gals definitely remind me of childhood!

I really admire how these women seem to age so gracefully, seriously I think they look even better and sexier now compared to a lot of the other models and celebrities today. And they look like realistic women to me at least.
